This charming stone cottage is in the quaint village of Broadhempston, 10 miles from the picturesque South Devon coast. The property sleeps four guests and two furry chums, making it the perfect couples’ retreat or base for a small family. Enjoy gentle strolls through the surrounding countryside, head further afield to explore Dartmoor National Park (6 miles), or visit the seaside towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham in the English Riviera (all within 14 miles).

The 17th-century, end-terrace holiday home is decorated in a country-cottage style and has a beautiful blend of period features and contemporary home comforts. The main living area is open-plan with gorgeous wooden flooring and whitewashed stone walls. The stylish kitchen area is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering break, and you can share mealtimes at the breakfast bar or at the table nestled by the window. After dinner, watch the Smart TV from the comfort of the sofa and warm your toes and paws by the cosy wood burner. The two attractive bedrooms, one king-size and one twin, are upstairs along with the elegant family bathroom. Outside, the enclosed courtyard provides a peaceful spot for the pups to potter around whilst you dine alfresco in the Devon sunshine. There’s also a public children’s play area adjacent to the cottage.

The seaside town of Torquay (9.5 miles) has a bustling marina to explore with your four-pawed pals, as well as numerous woof-friendly cafes and restaurants. The English Riviera is also known for its picture-postcard beaches, with woof-welcoming highlights including the long, sandy stretch at Goodrington Sands and the hidden beauty spots of Babbacombe Beach and Anstey’s Cove (all within 11 miles). Heading inland, lose yourself in the breathtaking beauty of Dartmoor National Park, where a network of trails beckon walkies.
