Nestled in the picturesque village of Bowness-on-Solway, marking the western end of Hadrian’s Wall, this inviting property is ideal for a relaxing stay with your family and a furry friend. Set in the grounds of a fort along Hadrian''s Wall, enjoy a wonderful blend of traditional character and contemporary comfort at this warm and welcoming home complete with a crackling wood burner in the cosy lounge.

As you enter, a traditional wooden archway in the hallway greets you. The lounge is an ideal spot for winding down in the evenings, where you’re sure to find Rover basking in the warmth of the fire. In the dining room, rustic beams and an electric wood burner-effect fire create a charming setting for memorable meals together. The ground-floor utility room makes it easy to wash off muddy paws and walking gear, while the well-equipped kitchen has everything you need to prepare hearty breakfasts or evening feasts. Upstairs, two double bedrooms—one with a Velux window and sloped ceiling—offer restful spaces to unwind. The master king-size bedroom boasts an en-suite shower room, while a spacious family bathroom with a bath provides a relaxing soak after a day of adventure. To the front of the cottage, a small patio with a bench provides a lovely spot for morning coffee, where you and your furry friend can watch the world go by. Private parking for one car is available.

15 miles from the border city of Carlisle, with its cathedral, museum, and castle, this home is the perfect base for exploring the Cumbrian coast, Scotland, and the Lake District National Park with your faithful friend. Nearby, you’ll find dog-friendly country pubs and cafes, and on clear days, enjoy stunning views across to Scotland. You’ll find walks and bike routes right from your doorstep, ideal for your four-pawed pal to stretch their legs. For tail-wagging walkies to remember, roam the Campfiled March RSPB Reserve and Wetlands Centre (2 miles), where well-behaved hounds are welcome to join you in spotting the local wildlife.

Lovely property in Bowness on Solway. Less than 5 min walk to the shore & some excellent views; nice village pub a few doors down. Very comfortable & cosy, with a log burner for added warmth (storage heaters in all rooms as well). Great location to explore Cumbria & The Lakes. Owners have thought of everything equipment wise from what we could Read moresee & the welcome pack was a nice touch as well (especially the selection of cakes). Hide
