On the opposite side of the bay, Roundstone (15 miles) offers a bustling harbour, thriving arts scene, and views of the Atlantic from the foot of Errisbeg Mountain. For a change of scenery, Clifden (20 miles) is Connemara’s largest town, known for its year-round calendar of festivals and bustling high-street shops, cafes and pup-positive pubs.
