Set on the rugged Wild Atlantic Way, this traditional cottage offers a fantastic base for outdoor escapes with four-pawed pals in tow. Well-suited to endless games of fetch on the sand and a wide selection of walking routes to explore, this pet-friendly property is just a short walk from the beach and is surrounded by exceptional County Mayo beauty in every direction. A pack of eight guests and two dogs are invited to stay, making full use of the cosy interiors and fully enclosed garden for top dog stays, whatever the weather brings.
Stop off in the entranceway to give wet fur and sandy paws a good wipe down before wandering into the ever-inviting lounge/kitchen/diner. This open-plan space features a much-needed open fire set into the corner, creating the warmest, cosiest ambience for you to settle onto the sofas, put your feet up and watch Rover curl up and drift off. We’re sure you’ll see your beloved doggo spring back into life as you get up to prepare dinner in the kitchen, no doubt seeking a scrap or two as you cook. Four peaceful bedrooms are laid out throughout the place, two of which offer en-suite bathrooms. Completing the space, step outside to enjoy the enclosed, grassy garden where you can sit and sip a drink whilst Fido plays.
Dugort Beach is less than 300 metres away. It’s dog-friendly and offers crystal-clear waters and white sand – a true pet-welcoming paradise. The village is surrounded by the verdant beauty and incredible seascapes of Achill Island, a destination dotted with cliffs, mountains and beaches to explore. Hike-ready dogs can get ready to sniff out a route to the top of Slievemore Mountain (3 miles), a summit affording incredible views over County Mayo, and Croaghaun a little further away (8.5 miles).
