Family, friends and a four-pawed pal will have a ball at this welcoming farmhouse, surrounded by beautiful County Donegal countryside and close to a stunning Atlantic beach. After a day of outdoor adventures, eight guests can enjoy a choice of living spaces, four double bedrooms – one an en-suite – and an enclosed garden.
A pretty lane approaches this handsome country home. Once inside, pop your pet’s bed by the hearth in one of the two sitting rooms – the lounge has a wood burner set into a stone fireplace, while the snug has an open fire, and both rooms have a TV and comfortable seating so you can stretch out too. You’ll set everybody’s tastebuds tingling as you cook up a feast in the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner; to freshen up before dinner, there’s a convenient shower room on the ground floor. Settle the dog with a bedtime biscuit then head up to the first floor where there are four double bedrooms – one with an en-suite shower room – plus a family bathroom. Outside, the large patio is fully enclosed by a stone wall and surrounded by trees – a safe space for your pet to sniff the country air and keep watch while you fire up the BBQ.
Located on the south coast of Donegal, Rossnowlagh Beach (3 miles) is one of Ireland’s top surfing destinations and, with a year-round welcome for dogs on leads, it’s a fabulous choice for walks along soft, golden sand accompanied by breathtaking views. You’ll find a friendly local store and inn close by, while 10 miles north of your doorstep, vibrant Donegal town has a backdrop of the Bluestack Mountains on the Wild Atlantic Way and a reputation for fine food. Little more than 4 miles to your south, Ballyshannon – Ireland’s oldest town – sits where the River Erne meets the sea.
