Overlooking the wide stretch of the River Liffey, this charming countryside cottage is perfect for a tranquil break in nature. Set tails wagging as you explore the waterside walking trails, forests and peaks of Wicklow Mountains National Park and the rolling hills of Glenealo Valley. You’ll also be within reach of Dublin. Up to four guests and one beloved canine companion can stay in this homely bungalow with traditional cottage interiors, a wood burner and a garden.

Enter the detached property and settle into the cosy lounge with neutral-toned decor, wooden furnishings and a comfortable leather sofa in front of the wood burner. Continue into the open-plan kitchen/diner which continues the same neutral and wooden colour pallet. Walk past the wooden dining table with six chairs to reach the ‘L’-shaped fitted kitchen unit with dark surface tops and wooden cabinets. Completing the interior is a family bathroom plus two bedrooms – a double and a twin. Outside, there is a large, enclosed garden with a lawn and furniture.

While staying in Lackan, start your time away with a stroll along the River Liffey (less than 0.5 miles) and admire your surroundings from Blessington Lakes Viewpoint (less than 0.5 miles). Great location for local walks to Blessington Lake and into hills above lake. Decor not modern but ample space for sitting and dining. Car parking space next to bungalow. Almost identical holiday cottage next door. Partially obstructed view to lake with sheep in field. Very peaceful. Short drive to Blessington where shops, pubs and cafes.

We very much enjoyed the quiet location of the cottage with beautiful views of the mountains and the lake. It was a great starting point for our various endeavours in the region. The space was very generous and the kitchen super Well equipped. Only the bathroom could need a little facelift. Thank you for the hospitality!

John is a marvellous host doing the maximum to welcome us. His house is really nice and easy living and as the weather was a bit cold, he managed immediately so that the heating was on as much we wanted. If we can go back at John's house, we would.
