Oozing character and charm, this countryside cottage makes for the perfect romantic getaway for two dog parents who want to explore the Yorkshire Dales National Park. You’ll be within easy reach of waterfalls, riverside walking trails and towering peaks while benefiting from village amenities on your doorstep.

Step inside this traditional Yorkshire stone cottage to find yourself in the welcoming lounge/kitchen/diner with a flagstone floor, a white-washed wooden beamed ceiling, wooden furnishings and a cracking wood burner. The pale walls and kitchen cabinets keep the space bright and airy, while the subtle blue decor creates a laid-back atmosphere. To one side of the room is a farmhouse-style ‘U’-shaped kitchen with a peninsula where you can enjoy a home cooked meal for two. Climb the stairs to reach a comfy king-size bedroom with nature views, plus a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Outside is a seating area at the front of the cottage.

Explore the village of Askrigg during your stay and stop for a bite to eat at one of the local pubs (within 0.5 miles). Lead the way to adventure with a trip to the nearby Aysgarth Falls (5 miles) and stroll along the River Ure. Visit the Cotter Force nature reserve (6.5 miles) and follow a hiking trail through the Great Shunner Fell (7.5 miles). Take a picnic on an adventure to the Pennine Way (13 miles), where you can walk along the rugged and oldest national trail, which stretches all the way to the Scottish Borders. Second time here, great location for walks and a lovely village with shop, pubs and a cafe. Cute, cosy cottage beautifully presented generously thought out. We cooked lots of meals here in well equipped, well laid out kitchen. Great views from front over village and Wensleydale, wonderful church location, parking not a problem either.

This is a well located cottage worth lovely views but very small. Not a good choice if you enjoy cooking as the kitchen is very small.

The overall impression of this cottage was that there was no-one who cared for it's appearance. Your 4 star rating for this cottage. NO!

Tasteful cottage full of charm and character. Idyllic village centre location, no road, by church with excellent pub, cafe and shop all very near. We walked from the door on long walks for 4 days and could have done for 6.

New Row Cottage is extremely cosy, clean, and comfortable. The owners have put a lot of thought into designing a compact but user friendly kitchen and supplying every piece of equipment any potential guest could require. The new bathroom is also well designed. Unfortunately, the television in the living area was not working for the first four daRead moreys of our holiday but Original Holidays' representative, Sarah, was most helpful. She went to the trouble of sourcing a brand new television and setting it up for us Hide
