The cottage was very clean and had everything we wanted. We did have a problem with the television as it took us a while to figure out how to get the four main channels. All we kept getting was life with the Kardashians. And the name of the cottage Beach View was a bit misleading as the front looked out on to the road with houses opposite and the bRead moreack view was warehouses. Hide

Perfect location in Amble. So close to all amenities and beaches you don't need to move your car. Having read previous reviews we went armed with cleaning products etc even though Holiday Cottages had replied to reviews claiming issues had been rectified. The silicone grab things are in no way a replacement for an oven glove which resulted in us buRead morerning ourselves. No baking trays provided so had to go and buy some. Hairdryer is provided though not listed but no plug sockets allow you to actually see in a mirror as you dry your hair. Overall maintenance was poor with very tired looking areas of the house. We couldn't allow our dogs outside unsupervised due to holes in the concrete and general things like ashtrays left on the floor. As we arrived there was a distinctive damp smell downstairs which we either got nose blind to or the heating rectified. The house is generally a warm house but setting the heating for 6am for holiday makers!!! We had wonderful weather with only one day of rain but wondered how we would have coped without taking things to keep the floor clean. Perfect base to visit that section of Northumberland and we will be returning just not to Beach Cottage. Hide

Overall, we had a very positive stay and found the property comfortable and modern. The carpets felt new and fluffy, the bath towels were excellent quality, and the kitchen knives were surprisingly sharp and good to cook with all much appreciated. There are just a few small areas where improvements could make the arrival experience even better: Read moreA basic welcome pack would be very helpful (e.g. tea, coffee, sugar, milk). Some essential household items were not provided, such as: Bin liners Washing-up liquid and sponge Dishwasher tablets Hand soap Kitchen roll We were fortunate there were two toilet rolls provided. Having to go shopping immediately on arrival to cover these essentials isnt the nicest way to start a holiday. Id happily recommend adding around 20 to the stay cost to cover these basics, as it would significantly improve guests first impressions. A couple of minor maintenance points to note: Two ceilings show signs of previous water damage. The bedroom ceiling rose is broken (though the light does work). The back gate was slightly awkward to open. None of the above detracted significantly from our stay, which was generally very good. These comments are shared purely as positive intervention, as a few small changes would elevate an already nice property to an excellent one. Hide

Great location in the middle of Amble, so everything was a convenient walk. Only short drives to the lovely village of Warkworth and the fantastic beach at Druridge Bay Country Park. Great for us with our dog. A mere 200ft from two excellent dog friendly Gastro pubs and 2 takeaways. Handy for the links and dog friendly beaches which are just South of the littleshore beach which us dog prohibited in Summer months. Very happy with our day.

First class accommodation, well decorated with a modern feel. Very well equipped, the shower was the best I've ever used. Ideal location as a base to explore Amble and the surrounding areas. Parking outside the property was easy. If we return to Amble again we would definitely try and re book this cottage.
