Situated on a quiet residential street in Penzance sits this snug and comfortable one-bedroom cottage. It’s a great bolthole for a couple or solo traveller plus one pup wanting easy access to galleries, museums, restaurants, and the beach.
Inside, the decor is light and welcoming with curved walls, pleasant furnishings, and warm tones creating a homely atmosphere. After a day out exploring, there’s plenty of space in the lounge for Fido to stretch out on the wood-panelled floor while you sink into the sofa. If the weather is warm, you’ll want to open the back door and let your pup roam around the courtyard. The kitchen is compact but has everything you’ll need to rustle up a delicious dinner and then enjoy it at the intimate table for two. When bedtime beckons, climb the cottage-style staircase to the first floor where you’ll find a lovely double bedroom. Light and airy, it’s well furnished with plenty of wardrobe space. There’s also a good-sized bathroom on this floor. Outside, a small courtyard is set up for evening drinks or morning coffee. While you relax at the bistro table, let your pup sniff out new scents among the potted plants.
Stroll to the harbour and watch the fishing boats bobbing on the water, or walk to the town centre and explore the antique shops, galleries, and dog-friendly cafes and restaurants. Alternatively, let Fido run on the shore at Wherrytown Beach (0.5 miles) or Eastern Green Beach (1.5 miles). At low tide, be sure to walk over the causeway at Marazion to St Michael’s Mount (3.5 miles) where you can explore the medieval castle and vibrant gardens.
