A large lawn where hounds can zoom around safely makes this beautifully converted barn an appealing choice for friends or families bringing two canine companions. Explore the Broads or the delightful Suffolk countryside and, when you get home, either relax on the patio or snuggle up by the glow of the wood burner as your blissfully tired pups curl up and snooze.
This pretty brick barn with brightly painted door and window frames is a delight. Hang leads and coats in its large hall and stroll into the bright and spacious kitchen/diner, where you can pop your pups’ bowls on the tiled floor. The cook will appreciate the range cooker and, in the summer, you can open the patio doors by the dining table and enjoy the fresh air. The lounge boasts colour-co-ordinated artworks and soft furnishings, and there’s a Smart TV for cosy evenings in, warmed by the wood burner. It’s a comfortable spot for your mutts to take a nap by your feet. One of the three bedrooms – a king-size with rural views – is on the ground floor. The other two are on the first floor – another king-size which boasts a beautiful wooden sleigh bed, plus a super-king-size that has an en-suite shower room. There’s also a family bathroom on the first floor. On warm days, enjoy a morning coffee or sip an aperitif on the large patio while your pups play on the lawn.
The small village of Lound has a village pond, a church with a gilded interior and a dog-friendly pub. Grab the leads and try one of the many country walks nearby, head to Corton Sands, 4.5 miles, for a great run on the dog-friendly beach, or hire a boat and explore the Broads – the River Yare is just 6 miles away.
