Steeped in history, this traditional cottage features an enclosed garden and is perfectly situated for sandy-pawed scampers on the Gower Peninsula. Sleeping four humans and one four-pawed traveller, this quintessential country cottage is the perfect outdoorsy escape for all the family. Pups can enjoy unrestricted wave-crashing, sand-digging, and ball-chasing on the sweep of golden sand at Rhossili Bay Beach (13.5 miles), before curling up for a snooze on the patio.

Dating back to 1780, this welcoming hideaway boasts a bright interior with exposed wooden beams, glossy antique-style furniture, and whitewashed stonework. Grab a fluffy towel and dry off soggy paws then pad into the cosy lounge. Sink onto the sofa with a post-adventure cuppa while Fido naps on the rug. Watch a film on the Smart TV and throw open the patio floors to let the outside in. As the night draws in, congregate in the spacious kitchen/diner. Rustle up a feast for your canine friend in the airy shaker kitchen then pour a round of drinks while perched by the wooden worktops. Mark your special occasion with a meal together gathered around the dining table. Ascend the hidden spiral staircase to discover a snug first-floor twin room or step up to the elegant king bedroom. After morning walkies, sit on the outdoor furniture with a coffee while your curious canine snuffles in the enclosed garden.

Get noses twitching with a saunter through the wonderfully fragrant Clyne Gardens (5 miles) before stopping by the Woodman Pub (5 miles) which serves up a specialist menu for four-pawed patrons. In summer months, cultured canines can scamper on the grounds of the Norman stone structure of Oystermouth Castle (6 miles). Refuel with doggy refreshments in the pup-friendly cafes dotted throughout the village of Mumbles (6 miles).

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 twin and 1 super-king zip-and-link, can be converted to twins on request

Great cottage but the low doorways and very tricky stairs should be more emphasized Also be aware of cows right adjacent to cottage especially if you have a dog

The cottage was rustic and very comfortable. The spiral stairs could be tricky for some but we quickly got used to them. The location of the cottage was perfect for the beautiful Three Cliffs Bay and the village had everything you need: coffee shops, village store and a community bar. We had a lovely relaxing week.

We had an absolutely brilliant time in your wonderful tastefully and generously equipped cottage. 15 min safe walk (only one road to cross straight by the house) led to 'beach heaven' and lots of walks. Different lights/tidal movements makes the same walk a new experience everyday so we never ventured far - except for one visit to Rhossili Beach whRead moreich is a must. Beds and sofas are comfortable - everything we needed was there and in good working order. Have patience to work out stuff like the lovely vintage lamps (switches are on the wall). We liked the pub down the road for a drink and to mingle with the friendly locals but weren't drawn in further by the menu. We had a great time thank you!!! Hide

The cottage has a comfortable lounge and bedrooms. Beds have good quality mattresses and linen. The lounge is small but comfortable. The kitchen is adequate. Table and chairs are old-fashioned, tired and let the property down. We understand the VERY close old bungalow on the same site (sharing the garden) is also to be converted/upgraded to a hRead moreoliday let. If that happened it would impinge a great deal on the privacy of the cottage guests. We would not book it again under those circumstances. Would cautiously recommend as it stands. Hide
