A holiday let where the dogs are very much as welcome as the humans, this gorgeous period property in Belper is a wonderful spot for a Derbyshire break. The town is rich in industrial heritage and culture and lies just 8 miles south of the Peak District National Park, where you can take the pets on tail-waggingly good walks through spectacular scenery. The beautifully presented retreat has space for five humans and two dogs, making it ideal for a family trip or holiday among friends.

The cottage, built in the 1700s, is located on a quaint cobbled street within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. It’s been renovated to an extremely high standard, with high-quality fixtures, fittings and furniture. The stylish living room, with its cosy wood burner, is perfect for relaxing with your pets after long walks. Cook up holiday feasts in the modern kitchen, then sit down to meals in the internal outhouse. This charming space doubles as a dining area and features characterful original brickwork. A hidden door leads upstairs to the three elegant bedrooms, one king, one double and one single, and one lovely family bathroom. The kitchen leads out to a long garden where your pets can roam safely. A paved patio with outdoor dining and BBQ sets you up for al fresco relaxation, and there’s also a well-kept lawn and a small orchard with a pear tree.

Belper is an award-winning market town with plenty of pubs and shops within a 1-mile radius. You’ll find plenty of sites for leisurely walks with your dog, including the Belper River Gardens and a local nature reserve (both 0.5 miles). When it’s time to venture into the national park for woof-tastic adventures, Matlock (10 miles) and Bakewell (18 miles) are both excellent areas for exploration with your canine companions.

Olives Place is simply wonderful. It was immaculate on arrival, and was a great place to stay with everything we needed for the week. We had a couple of minor queries which the owner was really quick to respond to, and the location - 5 mins from the centre of Belper - is a great base for exploring both locally and wider. We had a fantastic few days at Olive's Place. Rob the owner was in touch ahead of our stay and was extremely helpful throughout. The property itself is very nice and very well equipped with everything you could need, and the extra touches the owners have added really made for a great stay. Lovely enclosed garden at the back great for the dog; BelRead moreper itself a short walk away with a good choice of places to eat and drink. Highly recommended - will definitely return ! Hide

An absolutely beautiful cottage. Everything is done with the guest in mind, from the great selection of cookware and matching crockery to the comfy bed linen and toiletries provided. Excellent kitchen and really thoughtful welcome tray. Great communication with the owner Rob. Top stay. Would highly recommend. Phil S

olives place is a delightful place to stay. The owners are incredibly thoughtful. The quality and comfort went above and beyond our needs. It was a perfect place to stay for Xmas and New Year. I cannot thank them enough.

What a lovely place to stay, very well equipped and lots of little extras around the place for customers (dog biscuits, a tray of real ales, biscuits various infused tea etc) we loved the place and will be back in the future, you couldn't fault it!
