The market town of Helston (2 miles) has a pretty boating lake and café and hosts an annual, ancient festival in May called Flora Day. The magical island of St Michael’s Mount lies a short drive away (7.5 miles) and has the most beautiful gardens set across sloping terraces with a range of exotic species.
