We have come back to Sunshine Cottage for our second visit, a year after we first stayed here. Great location a couple of hundred metres from the beach at West Bexington. Just a few minutes drive to Burton Bradstock or Bridport. The house is spacious, warm and cosy and well equipped. The owners have left a large library of books if you find timRead moree to read. Overall it's a great house in a great location. Hide

Sunshine cottage is perfect for a peaceful getaway. Very comfortable, spacious, modern & decorated nicely. When sitting in lounge eye level view is from window ledge blending straight into the sea. Whole garden was also very secure & enclosed all around for our dogs. Wi-Fi worked faultlessly. Beach 5 mins walk away & other lovely local walks with beautiful views down across fields to the beach & sea. Large supermarket just 15 mins drive away in Bridport. Cottage is very well equipped with nice clean appliances & every utensil you could need. Ground floor bathroom with cubicle shower which works very well & bath with hand held shower upstairs. Only needed to use one bedroom which bed was very comfortable. West Bexington is a lovely quiet village & Sunshine cottage is a real gem to relax & unwind. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay & will definitely return. Previous reviews about cottage looking shabby redundant & is now freshly painted. Hide

The house is in a great position and there are lovely views from the house and garden. The house is bright and comfortable, and was plenty big enough for 6 adults and 2 dogs. The garden was large and secure enough to keep our dogs happy and safe. I understand the outside is due to be painted which is definitely needed.

This is a great cottage. Rabbits in the garden were fun to watch in the morning. The view s from the main rooms were wonderful. The location is brilliant. We loved our time there. In the promo information you state the drive can house two cars, but you could easily get a third one on there. Wonderful place.

Spent a lovely week in this property in a great location. Don' t know when the agent last visited but it certainly isn't 4 star anymore. 3 star, yes. Lovely large garden and the property is spacious too. The exterior does need painting and with some attention to detail this could be a fabulous property. I would recommend this property , as its in aRead more good location, close to a beach and other attractions, takes dogs and has a large garden. Hide

Lovely location but lacks top notch comfort. Beds uncomfortable, towels only adequate, loud water pump disturbed sleep in one bedroom. Kitchen equipment basic. Narrow driveway. However reasonably spacious for our group of 7. Large garden.

We had a lovely stay and can't fault the location however do feel the owner could make a few changes to bring it up a notch considering the cost to rent it. Firstly would agree with a previous owner in that from the outside the property does look a bit grubby. Its not a big issue as it has no bearing on our stay but a lick of paint to the outside wRead moreould certainly make a difference with first impressions. Inside of the house was much better aesthetically and that's ultimately what's most important for a good holiday. A few of the utensils/cutlery had dried food on still so that was a bit disappointing but we gave them a clean and carried on. A new set of pots and pans would be welcome too as the ones provided are battered and not great. Next thing...towels. We stay exclusively in UK holiday lets on holidays due to personal circumstance and I can never understand when a holiday let doesn't have proper full size 'bath sheet' towels. I'm an average size guy and had to use a couple of the smaller things that were supplied. With the shower downstairs I had to take all my clothes in with me as the towels certainly had no chance of covering my decency getting back to my room upstairs that's for sure! The towels in general weren't particularly nice quality but at least give me one that is a functional size please. Little things like that at minimal cost can make a big difference. The mattress in the main bedroom upstairs is also very basic and had us both waking up with aches until I laid down some pillows on the mattress and slept on top of those. Bit more expensive to fix that one but makes a huge difference. I think the other mattresses were all good enough as no complaints from the kids. Front gate doesn't meet up with the bolt so you can't actually make the garden fully dog-safe and need to keep an eye on them. Aside from that its a wonderful garden so wasn't too much a chore standing out there with the dog but only because the weather was kind! Final thing was the house was freezing in the mornings. Appreciate a call to the management company would probably have fixed that quickly but as we were only there 4 days decided to grin and bear it. There were electrical heaters in the property which makes me think its a known issue as otherwise why have them there. We were reluctant to leave these on overnight though for safety reasons so until we could get down in the morning and get them on it got very cold by morning. Could not find a thermostat for the life of us. Those issues aside we still had a lovely stay but we're a fairly resilient bunch. There's much to love about the house and its surroundings. Wonderful views and the beach on your doorstep. Everything in the house works as it should. Mainly just a bit of updating and TLC due as everything else is fantastic. Hide

I've been meeting up annually with my friends for over 20 years in different places and this property is easily one of the best we've been to. Great location, fantastically kitted out, nice decor and extremely comfortable. Seriously considering booking again for next year rather than looking for somewhere else as normal.

Some aspects of the house needs a little maintenance, ie two sealed units in the lounge had broken down, hence misty windows, and the bedroom 1 window we were unable to open.
