A traditional country aesthetic awaits in this charming dog-friendly cottage set deep in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Merrily hosting up to six guests and three dogs, the property is perfect for any long-awaited get-together. As this property is situated on a working sheep farm, a close eye should be kept on your three energetic doggos. However, the many wonders of the surrounding Sussex countryside offer an endless array of places for your dogs to enjoy a stretch of freedom, whether they’re hunting for wildlife in Hartfield Forest or leaving no stick unfetched along the sprawling banks of the River Medway.

Put your best paw forward and step into this stunning self-catered holiday home. Charming features including original beams and a handsome fireplace add to the charm of the accommodation. Said fireplace has been fitted with a wood burner which creates the cosiest spot for your three dogs to curl up beside at the end of each evening. With the rest of the pack crowded around a board game or watching something on TV, you can leave your sleeping pups to dream peacefully of walkies passed. When it’s time for the human members of the pack to get to bed, three bedrooms can be found just upstairs. Two of these traditional bedrooms are interconnected, ideal for families with younger children.

Lead the way to adventure from the neighbouring village of Hartfield (1 mile), commonly known as Winnie the Pooh Country. Pick up some puppy treats and a tennis ball or two to embark on an adventure along the Hartfield Forest Way (0.5 miles) or let your dogs fetch you some sticks for a game of pooh sticks on Pooh Sticks Bridge (2.5 miles). Commonly known as the inspiration for the Hundred Acre Wood, nearby Ashdown Forest (4.5 miles) presents endless routes for enjoying plenty of walks with man’s best friend.

Don't visit unless you see what you think are new photographs fixing these issues I describe below. The two selling points to us for this expensive house were the patio and sun lounge. The patio was overgrown, dirty and had broken slabs. The view was non-existent and the sun blocked out for most of the day due to shrub and tree growth not being pRead moreruned and maintained. No breakfasts on the patio. The sun lounge next to the kitchen was as bad with three old uncomfortable chairs, two of which had the their fabric sides removed off because presumably one side had been damaged. There were broken stair posts lying in this room which could have easily been glued back in a few minutes but had been lying there since 2022. There was a feeling of meanness as tea towel had holes in, dirty oven gloves, broken drawer front in kitchen. Response from holidaycottages.co.uk - Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Your points have been passed onto the property owner for rectification. Hide

Very well equipped comfortable cottage in a perfect location. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and in particular the outdoor space which provided wonderful shade in the heat. Many lovely woodland walks nearby and a well stocked farm shop just up the road. We would definitely stay again.

A very spacious cottage with peaceful surroundings. Bathrooms were very large and clean. My favourite was the dinning room. Few improvements are needed to make this an ideal long stay. The bedrooms were nicely decorated.
