Just 350 metres from the beach, a cafe and a children’s playground, this terraced cottage is an ideal base for a party of five and their canine companion. Close to the centre of elegant Overstrand, it has two bedrooms – one an en-suite – and a dog-friendly enclosed courtyard, plus gated access to a further lawned area with furniture.

Once a favourite holiday location for wealthy Victorians, Overstrand has a fine selection of properties that chart its popularity over the intervening years, among them this welcoming family home. Enjoy downtime with loved ones in the living room, where you can unwind in front of the wood burner and watch a favourite movie. When it’s time to eat, the sleek modern kitchen will inspire even the most reluctant of chefs and, between the two rooms, the dining room has plenty of floor space where Fido can stretch out and watch for titbits. To the rear of the ground floor, there’s a utility and shower room – handy for washing off the sand when you return from the nearby beach. Once Fido is settled for the night, move upstairs and you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms – the first is a large king-size with a modern en-suite bathroom, and the second has three single beds. For a sniff of fresh coastal air, simply take a seat in the enclosed courtyard area immediately outside the back door. For al fresco gatherings with all the gang, there’s also gated access from here to a lawned area with seating – don’t forget a sausage or two for Fido!

Stroll through the village and you’ll find welcoming shops, pubs and eateries; 350 metres from your doorstep, there’s a pleasant children’s playground, cliff-top car park and, below, the beach which is sandy at low tide and perfect for a waggy-tailed walk. Just 2.5 miles along the coast, Cromer is one of North Norfolk’s busiest seaside towns with family entertainment, a Victorian pier and a promenade. For a change of terrain, the National Trust’s Felbrigg Hall is 5 miles inland; there’s parkland for Fido to explore and once you’ve walked up an appetite, a pet-friendly tearoom.

I really loved this Cottage. Very comfortable. Everything you need and more. Cannot always park outside cottage but you will be able to park somewhere in the street. The only problem I had was with the TV which I eventually wanted to throw out the window.. Hope it will be sorted soon. Was really pleased to have a downstairs toilet and also two handRead morerails on stairs. Bonus. Loved walking around Overstrand. Everyone is really friendly. Hide
