This romantic retreat is in the Yorkshire village of Askrigg and makes the ideal base for those who love getting out and about in nature. The village is surrounded by rolling countryside, and nearby beauty spots include Aysgarth Falls (5 miles) and Semerwater Lake (4 miles). After a day of adventure, return to your stylish bolthole to take a relaxing soak in the luxurious, roll-top bath.
The ground-floor apartment is set within a grand, period property. Inside, discover a truly unforgettable holiday home boasting decadent furniture and luxurious fixtures and fittings. Spend quality time together in the opulent lounge, which has a plush sofa bed (which accommodates a further two guests if needed) and a Smart TV. Adjacent to the lounge is a sleek kitchen/diner, with ample space for the dog bed and a dining table to seat four guests. When it’s time for bed, retreat to the magnificent king-size bedroom, which houses an indulgent roll-top bath – the perfect place to rest weary limbs after a long walk with the pup. Completing the accommodation is a stylish shower room. There is no outside space, but with numerous scenic trails branching away from the village, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to morning walkies.
Askrigg has several pubs, cafes, and independent shops, many welcoming four-pawed visitors. The village is just 5 miles from the iconic Aysgarth Falls – a three-step, cascading waterfall on the River Ure. Here, you’ll find circular walks to explore with the hound, through the surrounding woodlands and along the water’s edge. Further afield, Malham Cove (just over 30 miles) is another popular dog-walking spot, with routes encompassing the magnificent amphitheatre-shaped, limestone cliff formation. For a spot of retail therapy head to Hawes (5.5 miles), where you can sample some tasty Wensleydale cheese from the local creamery.
