Escape the hustle and bustle of the daily grind at this gorgeous 18th century former-fisherman’s cottage in the beautiful town of Ilfracombe. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and welcoming two canine companions, this traditional three-storey home is the perfect accommodation option for small families or groups of friends who are yearning for a traditional seaside break on the North Devon coast. During the day, take your pups for walkies along Ilfracombe Harbour; and in the evening come home to unwind on the cottage’s quaint patio while you wait for the stars to come out.

Step inside and you''ll be greeted by a homely open-plan kitchen/dining area boasting an impressive exposed beam ceiling, which adds character and charm to the space. Climb the stairs to the first floor and take a moment to make yourself at home in the cosy lounge, which showcases wonderful harbour views. When it’s time to eat, head back to the kitchen, rustle up some dinner for you loved ones and then host a sociable dinner in the chic dining area. After dinner, head to the quaint patio to the front of the property to enjoy a glass of wine. Alternatively, stretch out in front of your favourite TV show in the living area while your pups snooze by your feet. At the end of the day, there are two charming bedrooms waiting for you on the third floor - one double and one twin. Mizpah is a traditional fisherman’s cottage, and as such has narrow cottage stairs, making it unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. The cottage is set into the cliffs, and so has no rear garden but rather offers a small outside seating area to the front.

Parking is sometimes available on the street, or in the conveniently located public car park just steps from the cottage, Ropery Car park

Enjoy a relaxing day playing fetch with your pups at Hele Bay (1.5 miles), where dogs are welcome all year round. Or take your pups on a stunning coastal hike at Capstone Hill (0.5 miles). The views over the sea and town from the top are fantastic.

Lovely little cottage in ilfracombe, location was brilliant and right in the centre, close to all amenities. The cottage was very clean and the decor was lovely. It had nice little extra touches eg tea/coffee. Equipment was everything we needed. We did have an issue with parking outside on the road and had to pay additional to park in a car park Read morebut other than that would highly recommend to friends and family. A lovely holiday home. We booked for a week at Christmas, arriving Christmas eve at around 4.30pm. Sadly disappointed and left after 3 days. Management company unavailable. The positives: Great location, easy access, comfy bed, nice neighbours, easy parking outside (winter). Responsive owner. Sadly needs some renovation and remedial works. Very clever photography of Read morethe house. Bedroom very damp to the point of needing to run a dehumidifier constantly, so if you have any respiratory problems or just want a warm dry room to sleep in, this isn't the place for you. kitchen sadly lacking, not least a frozen fridge which took a good while to defrost and clean. Poorly equipped, not even a baking tray. Furniture very uncomfortable (old futon, plank style, upright, not even armrests that you could put cushions on as a sofa) so no cosy sofas as in description and two small upvc bucket chairs, good for children! We have been compensated via the complaints procedure ( half our money back) but feel its important that it is known that the property is currently under par but with a little more investment could be a great little find in Ilfracombe. We wish the owners well. Hide
