A quintessential English cottage with a secluded cobblestone courtyard, situated in the peaceful Wensleydale village of Stalling Busk. This tastefully appointed property is a wonderful space for families or couples holidaying with their faithful companions. Bound along leafy woodland trails and tuck into a picnic by the cascading waters of Aysgarth Falls (9 miles), then curl up in the crackling glow of the wood burner for a post-adventure kip.

An easy sentiment flows throughout this stylish country abode. Enjoy chic neutral hues, artfully draped throws, and polished wooden textures. After a day of exploring, perch on the bench to ease out of hiking boots and towel down soggy paws. In cooler months, throw a log on the wood burner and unwind on the soft seats with a novel in hand. Peruse the TV for an easy evening watch while your worn-out hound dozes on the rug. Stepping down, catch up in the sleek shaker kitchen perched at the breakfast bar with an aperitif then rustle up an extra meaty supper for Fido. Tuck into a sociable evening soiree gathered around the dining table then sink onto the plump leather sofa with a sweet treat. Upstairs, discover two inviting bedrooms. Choose between an airy king with sweeping countryside vistas and a bright twin with a rustic beamed ceiling. Outdoors, sniff hello to the neighbouring sheep from the South-facing courtyard or ball-chase on the stretch of grassy lawn.

Peruse gift shops and stroll the cobbles streets of Hawes (5.5 miles) with plenty of intriguing scents for nosey pups to snuffle. Pack some meaty snacks and a picnic then feast with a jaw-dropping backdrop at the Buttertubs Pass (10 miles). Scramble atop limestone rocks and bound through the peaty moorland of Pennie Way (18 miles).

Nestled in Yorkshire's heart, this remote cottage promised a cozy retreat and delivered splendidly. The surrounding landscapes invited exploration - especially for our two dogs. Hosts added warmth with thoughtful touches, like a selection of local treats. Would (will) visit again without question.

Beautiful, remote location. Comfortable house but could do with a bit of TLC. Shower room is extremely small and anyone larger than 'average' size will struggle. Cooking eqiupment could do with a bit more thought.
