Take your pup for long walks through the meadow and down beside the stream when you stay at this Scandinavian-style eco lodge in Suffolk. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom holiday home near Hintlesham sits on a picturesque site, with other holiday retreats. From here head off to the Dedham Vale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for days out that will set tails wagging. Return with your furry friend to relax on the veranda or in front of a crackling wood burner.

Dry damp paws then wander into the attractive, timber-clad Finnish lodge to find single-storey accommodation, with an abundance of gorgeous wood and natural light. Make yourselves at home in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its great glass doors that pull the views right into the living space. Let your chum pad about while you top up his water bowl and prepare his dinner in the kitchen. You will find everything you need here to whip up your own meals too with the delicious produce you have bought at nearby Suffolk markets and farm shops. Light the wood burner on chilly evenings and pass cosy hours together playing games or in front of the Smart TV. Pat your pal goodnight before heading off to one of the two king-size bedrooms. One of these has zip-and-link beds and can also be made up as two singles if discussed. There is an en-suite bathroom, en-suite shower room and separate WC. Relax out on the veranda on fine days, with your happy hound close by. Cook supper out here too.

Venture 5 miles to the fringes of Dedham Vale, with its footpaths and beauty spots. Head down to the National Trust’s Pin Mill, 11 miles away, on the River Orwell, to walk through woodland and heath and to enjoy magnificent views across the water.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 zip-and-link twin that can be made into a king-size upon request

This lodge is absolutely lovely for a relaxing break away. The facilities are great with comfortable beds and nice en-suites with bath or shower .Kitchen has nice appliances and plenty of crockery . The view is lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the veranda in the sunshine. Perfect location and welcoming host.

Nice location, quiet and tranquil. A car is a necessity to be able to reach nearby cities and hospitality venues across the county. Hourly Bus service is available to Ipswich. The Bath ensuite was our major problem. It is higher than normal to get into or out of (no handholds), it does not have a non-slip base and the large spout into the bath we cRead moreonsidered a hazard, especially if children are involved. There is no shower over and the offered alternative to rinse your body and hair is a ceramic jug, which weighs a lot when filled with water! If staying a week or more be aware you will need to ask for extra towels and tea towels but also that there are no washing machines in the Lodges. Hide
