This former stables and coach house is now a delightful cottage that’s perfect for a couple or small family looking for a getaway in the Yorkshire Dales. After a day walking, cycling or exploring the lovely towns and villages all around, you can spend an evening in the sunny courtyard or relaxing in the comfortable lounge.

Cosy and welcoming, this terraced cottage is a lovely retreat, combining elements of rustic charm with modern decor. Step straight in to the kitchen/diner, where everything is provided for you to cook up tasty meals, and you can enjoy them at the wooden dining table, which has seating for up to five. There’s room here to pop your pup’s bowls on the floor, too. After supper, head into the welcoming lounge for a relaxing evening on the corner sofa, perhaps reading, playing a game or watching the Freeview TV. On the first floor the main bedroom is super-king-size, or can be a twin on request, while the second bedroom is a double. They share a family shower room. The south-facing gravelled courtyard is enclosed by a stone wall and overlooks the 12th century church next door. Here you can sit on the bench and enjoy the fresh air, perhaps with a cuppa or a pre-dinner drink, while your pup plays and sniffs.

The cottage is located in the peaceful Dales village of Spennithorne, and is just 1.5 miles from Leyburn, a market town where you’ll find a variety of shops, pubs and places to eat. Walking and cycling routes abound, while in Middleham, 3 miles, you can visit the extensive remains of Richard III’s castle. Bolton Castle is 7.5 miles, the magnificent Aysgarth Falls are 8.5 miles, and Richmond, a vibrant market town with another iconic castle, is 10.5 miles.

Extremely clean, functional, comfortable and nicely decorated cottage. Would definately stay again. Needed to park our car on the road side near the church, as manoevering it was difficult in the yard, as mentioned in the cottage description. Really nice stay there
