Gather a group for a getaway on the Suffolk coast. Located in the quiet village of Dunwich, you’ll be staying in a beautiful area with the sea on one side and countryside on the other, so you can have land and water-based adventures every day. The property could accommodate two small families or a mixed group, and the dogs are, of course, invited.
The ground floor of the property has a kitchen where you can grab a drink from the Nespresso coffee machine or prepare a feast. The dining room connects to the kitchen through an archway, a whimsical touch. It’s a charming spot with exposed brick and beams, and there’s room for the whole gang. After dinner, retire to the lounge and light the open fire while you play games, dogs snoozing in the corner. The ground floor also has a utility room and a cloakroom. There’s one downstairs bedroom, a double with an en-suite. Head upstairs for the other bedrooms: another double with an en-suite bathroom (featuring a freestanding bath); a flexible room that can be made up as a king-size or twin; and a single bedroom. The floor is completed by a family bathroom and a landing with a desk. On sunny days, take the children and dogs out to the garden, enclosed by fences and hedges. There’s a play area, a lawn, a dining area, and a BBQ: perfect for sunny afternoons.
You’ll be 0.5 miles from Dunwich Beach, a gorgeous spot that welcomes people and salty sea dogs. Slightly inland, but still only 0.5 miles from the cottage, you’ll find the RSPB Dingle Marshes, which are great for walks and famous for bitterns and marsh harriers. Take an evening out at Southwold, 8 miles away, a coastal town with dog-friendly pubs.
