Gather your partner, friends and dogs for a romp through the Peak District. This detached property, in the village of Parwich, will comfortably house two couples. It’s a charming base where you can relax and enjoy quality time together, before heading out to explore mysterious caves, climb mountains and amble around beautiful gardens.

Upon entering the cottage, you’ll notice a lounge, where you can curl up with the dogs after a long day and get cosy by lighting the wood burner. The kitchen/diner is just next door, and make sure you treat yourself to a tasty drink from the Nespresso coffee machine. There’s a WC to complete the ground floor. Put the puppies to sleep and then head upstairs, where you’ll find a double bedroom and a king-size bedroom. Both have been simply decorated and are great places to get a good night’s sleep. Finally, there’s a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The garden is enclosed with a wooden fence, which some dogs may be able to get through if left unsupervised, so take a coffee to the summerhouse or the outdoor table and watch them sniff around.

The Peak District is full of gorgeous places to walk, including Thor’s Cave, 7 miles away. If you prefer your plants more manicured, head to Kedleston Hall, which has beautiful dog-friendly gardens and a cafe with takeaway options. You’ll be 15.5 miles from Alton Towers, which doesn’t allow dogs (aside from service animals), so if there are thrill seekers in your group, send them off to the rollercoasters while you enjoy a hike with the dogs.

  • 2 bedrooms - 1 king-size and 1 double
  • 1 bathroom - shower over bath and WC and a separate WC on the ground floor
  • Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer; Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine
  • Highchair and travel cot available on request
  • Wood burner (first basket of logs included)
  • TV with Roku firestick
  • Enclosed garden with secure bike storage and summer house
  • Parking for 2 cars
  • Shop 7 miles, pub/restaurant 350 metres (The Sycamore Inn - you are advised to book a restaurant table in advance.)
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 2 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

The Catlow is a very spacious comfortable property in a beautiful, peaceful little village setting. The perfect property for getting away from the stresses of everyday life. The little garden is perfect for dogs. It was lovely to sit out with a coffee and watch the sheep & pheasants in the field next to the garden. The Sycamore Inn which is the locRead moreal village pub is only a few hundred yards away & serves great food which is well worth the wait. It's the perfect base for visiting all the local attractions. We visited Carsington Water, The Tissington Trail & Dovedale which are all great for walkers. The Old Dog just off the Tissington Trail do a lovely Sunday Lunch. Overall we had a lovely restful time, the only thing that spoilt it was the few rainy days we had. We've already booked to go back next year hopefully with more sunshine next time. We would highly recommend. Hide

A beautifully presented property and in a lovely location. Pub just a short walk away, friendly and with great food. Walks from the door, or a little further afield there are lots of great places to visit. A lovely welcome hamper greeted us along with the call of the owls as we sat in the garden in the evening. A visit is certainly recommended.

We had a lovely holiday here. The property was very well equipped and the furniture/bedding/utensils were all of a high standard. We enjoyed the welcome basket and thought it was a nice touch. The coffee machine was great and the owner had supplied a generous amount of different pods to go in it. The bath and shower were good. The garden wraps arouRead morend the property and this gives it a secluded feel. The village of Parwich is beautiful and the people were very friendly. We visited the pub for drinks a couple of times, did plenty of walking (there are loads of footpaths from the village as well as further afield) and the cycling was great too. The property is dog friendly so there was a bit of hair around but overall it was extremely clean and tidy. Great to have a high chair and travel cot provided too. Thank you! Hide

The Catlow is well situated on the edge of a lovely village, in a quiet location. The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard and was extremely comfortable. It was a good base to enjoy many walks in the southern Peak District. We would certainly recommend.
