Gather your partner, friends and dogs for a romp through the Peak District. This detached property, in the village of Parwich, will comfortably house two couples. It’s a charming base where you can relax and enjoy quality time together, before heading out to explore mysterious caves, climb mountains and amble around beautiful gardens.
Upon entering the cottage, you’ll notice a lounge, where you can curl up with the dogs after a long day and get cosy by lighting the wood burner. The kitchen/diner is just next door, and make sure you treat yourself to a tasty drink from the Nespresso coffee machine. There’s a WC to complete the ground floor. Put the puppies to sleep and then head upstairs, where you’ll find a double bedroom and a king-size bedroom. Both have been simply decorated and are great places to get a good night’s sleep. Finally, there’s a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The garden is enclosed with a wooden fence, which some dogs may be able to get through if left unsupervised, so take a coffee to the summerhouse or the outdoor table and watch them sniff around.
The Peak District is full of gorgeous places to walk, including Thor’s Cave, 7 miles away. If you prefer your plants more manicured, head to Kedleston Hall, which has beautiful dog-friendly gardens and a cafe with takeaway options. You’ll be 15.5 miles from Alton Towers, which doesn’t allow dogs (aside from service animals), so if there are thrill seekers in your group, send them off to the rollercoasters while you enjoy a hike with the dogs.
