Have a whale of a time in this quirky, unconventional getaway. Located in the beautiful village of Mevagissey, Cornwall, you’ll be ideally situated for ambling around town, visiting the harbour or taking your dog to the beach. It would be great for a couple and their canine companion.
The property has layers and steps, so start off in the lounge/diner, a charming social space that you can make cosy with the wood burner. The kitchen is just next door. Go up a few steps and find a sitting room, full of artwork, decorated with coastal shades. Continue up more stairs for the bedroom and bathroom. There’s a lovely P-shaped bath for long, deep soaks. If you prefer, you can use the shower over the bath. The bedroom is comfortable and restful, with wooden finishes and a door which leads to the sun patio. This is reached by climbing a flight of stairs, so you can enjoy a gorgeous view of the surrounding area, perhaps whilst having a drink or a snack. You can also use the shared courtyard outside the front door, which is enclosed by a wall, and finished with a utility area where you can do laundry.
There are plenty of places to visit around Mevagissey. You’ll be in the centre of town, so why not treat yourselves to a meal out, or do a little souvenir shopping. When your salty sea dog is ready for a paddle, go to Polstreath Beach (0.5 miles), which welcomes canines. The Lost Gardens of Heligan (2.5 miles) are also full of exciting smells and sights which you and your dog are sure to enjoy.
