Take a romantic holiday in the middle of Wales. This log cabin would make a great base for an outdoorsy couple and their dog to enjoy each other’s company and explore the surrounding area. The property skilfully combines environmentally friendly features, which make the building carbon negative, with lovely touches like a fire pit and a veranda.
The cabin is all on one level, aside from one room accessed via a ladder which is off-limits for guests. Walk into an airy kitchen/lounge/diner with a vaulted ceiling. The space gets natural light during the day through the glass patio doors, and in the evening, you can cosy up by the wood burner. The kitchen is well-equipped, so it’s easy to cook your partner’s favourite meal and eat together, while your dog naps at your feet. Continue to the bathroom, which has a deep bath and a walk-in shower. The final room is a comfortable king-size bedroom with wooden finishes, lovely and quiet so you can get a good night’s sleep. You’ll have a veranda with a dining area for fresh air on drizzly days, and then a garden enclosed by a wooden fence. This garden also has a table and chairs, and there’s a fire pit so you can roast marshmallows.
You’ll be staying in a remote area of Wales, surrounded by countryside. There are plenty of walks around for you and your canine companion to try, including around Cors y Llyn National Nature Reserve (just over 0.5 miles), which is part bog, part forest. If you’d like to learn about the history of Wales, head to Castell Collen (6.5 miles), a 2,000-year-old Roman fort. When you need supplies or fancy a meal out, visit Builth Wells (3.5 miles), a town with dog-friendly eateries.
Please note there is no TV at the property, but there is WiFi and guests are welcome to bring their own laptops or devices to watch programmes or films over the internet'
