Step back in time at this immaculately restored cottage in the picturesque village of Dittisham, whose quaint streets, serene riverside setting and Devonshire views promise a restful escape. You’ll have pubs and a village shop within 1 mile and additional facilities in Dartmouth and Brixham, 4 and 5 miles away respectively. This gloriously traditional dwelling sleeps four guests over its two bedrooms, suiting a small family or group of friends and up to two dogs.
Pass through the cottage''s charming stable-style door (mind your head!) then enter a lounge brimming with period charm: think exposed timbers and stonework, pristine wood floors and whitewashed walls reminiscent of a classic gamekeeper''s lodge. A plush sofa and armchairs are ready for humans to sink into while dogs transform the rug into a cosy sleep spot (even cosier if you spark up the wood burner for them). The light-filled kitchen/diner features modern amenities and vibrant shades, ideal for creating culinary delights and dining together. From the lounge, a sweet steep wooden staircase takes you up to the sleeping quarters. Outside, you’ll have private access to a gravelled garden with seating, a dining table and an elevated relaxation spot that’s perfect for an evening BBQ – extra sausages for the dogs, please!
The renowned harbour town of Dartmouth is accessible either via road or on the local ferry from Dittisham Quay (0.5 miles). Float down the River Dart with your loved ones and pets, lapping up the scenery while the dogs’ ears flap in the wind. Once in Dartmouth, visit the castle (with the dogs on leads) before popping into the town’s many canine-friendly eateries for a bite to eat. In the mood for some thrills? The Woodlands Family Theme Park (4.5 miles) makes a fun-filled family day out – you can leave your beloved pets in the kennels provided while you enjoy the rides and attractions.
Alpha cottage is the perfect place to stay for couples, families, walkers, photographers and artists. It is also a great location to kayak and paddleboard.
