Nestled in a quiet, residential area in the coastal village of Pakefield, this cosy charming fisherman’s cottage welcomes up to four guests and one contented canine for adventures beside the sea. An ideal choice for keen walkers and nature lovers, this delightful property is situated on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, so it’s perfect for dipping into both counties. After days scampering on sands, watching wildlife, and ambling round seaside towns, it offers a lovely space to rest and recharge.

Cute as a button and cosy as can be, this coastal abode is bursting with charm. Beamed ceilings, brick fireplaces, wooden floors and latched doors maintain the property’s original character, and ensure a homely and welcoming feel. Wipe down sandy paws and hang up leads in the convenient porch before entering the snug lounge. Leave your faithful friend snoozing in front of the wood burner while you prepare yummy meals for your pack, then gather round the dining table in the kitchen or dine alfresco in the petit courtyard garden. When bedtime calls, two warm and comfortable bedrooms await on the first floor. In keeping with properties of this age, the family bathroom is on the ground floor.

Put your best paw forward as you set off for morning walkies along the sands – your dog will be delighted to learn that Pakefield’s wild and windswept beach is dog friendly year round. Alternatively sniff out adventure along part of the Suffolk Coast Path, or head to Corton Woods for woodland walks amongst nature. Birdwatchers can take their canine companions to RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath (both within 18.5 miles), and if you and your sea dog are craving a traditional day at the seaside, head to Southwold (10.5 miles) or Great Yarmouth (14 miles).

We had a wonderful break at the beach hut - very comfortable bed and welcoming and cosy cottage, spotlessly clean - the cottage is very handy for the beach and within easy walking distance of Lowestoft beach - there is a handy CoOp at the end of the road for groceries and everything you could within the cottage itself - a safe little courtyard gardRead moreen for our four legged companion made our stay the perfect break away . A lovely, comfortable welcoming place. Very close to the beach and other local ammenities. We had a lovely last minute stay. If we were the type of family to stay more than once in a place we would come back. The space was clean and was just right for the three of us and our dog. Thank you for hosting us.

For me, the Beach Hut is the most cosy and comfortable place I could stay in Pakefield! Its kept extremely clean and is well equipped with everything that you might need-really homely. I was pleasantly surprised by its location-the beach, multiple pubs, convenience stores and takeaways within a couple of minutes stroll-a 5 minute drive would get yoRead moreu to the nearest supermarket and retail outlets but you wouldnt know it from the quiet location. We brought our Transit campervan (which fitted onto the provided parking safely) so Id say that most cars would fit easily. Pakefield is an excellent base for long beach walks towards Lowestoft and Kessingland in the opposite direction and short drives if you fancy a visit to Southwold or any of the surrounding areas. I enjoyed my time at the Beach Hut and would be happy to come back. Hide

I loved the cottage, beautifully decorated. Very comfortable and I felt very safe there. Mind you I did have my dog with me. I would absolutely stay again.

This is a lovely cosy cottage in a great location for peace and quiet. The cottage was wonderfully warm so we didn't need the log burner. The lounge had comfortable chairs and a smart tv so we could get all the satellite channels. The broadband is fast and reliable. The original herringbone flooring and beams on the ceiling lent to the homely aRead moretmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and the pint of milk, tea, coffee and sugar were great. Having a dishwasher is a good idea but you do need to bring your own tablets. The bathroom has a corner bath with a powerful shower over the top which I very much appreciated. Upstairs were two good sized, comfortable bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The whole house is in a good state of repair and the one lightbulb that needed replacing was easy to find in the kitchen. The back yard is completely fenced in with 6 foot high panels, slabs and shingle and is big enough for a dog to use first thing in the morning which meant we could have a lie in! Size wise it was fine for two adults and a large dog but I think four adults would find it a bit of a squeeze. We found the Oddfellows Arms which was a wonderfully welcoming pub for humans and dogs alike and the locals were so friendly. As far as location is concerned - it's perfect for dog owners. It is not even 5 a minute walk to Pakefield beach which is a mix of shrub, shingle and sand. I have never seen so many sea fishermen lined up on the shore - there must have been at least a dozen no matter what time of day or night. We enjoyed walking along to Lowestoft at night so our dog could go off lead. The walk is about half an hour and you can walk along the promenade on the way back. The beach huts are gorgeous and there is a cafe at the weekends (out of season). Other great places to go are Gunton Warren - a 60 acre nature reserve on the coast (more fishermen!) with woodland too. Good for at least an hour's walk and only 15 minutes from Pakefield. We also enjoyed Carlton and Oulton Marshes - a Suffolk Wildlife Trust wetlands where dogs must be on leads but another good hour's walk around the long trail. The last place we went to was Gorleston-on-Sea which is an amazing beach. All in all, another wonderful break for us, courtesy of Holiday Cottages. Hide

Lovely small cottage very conveniently located for the beach, supermarket, pubs and playgrounds in an incredibly friendly location. We felt like wed made friends in the area by the time we left. House was cosy and homely. Worked well for our family of three but four adults might find it a bit of a squash. We would definitely go again, we loved it.

We had a lovely stay at Beach Hut cottage. It was easy to find, had great parking and is so close to the beach, our 1 year old could walk there happily every day in every weather. This kitchen was well stocked and it was lovely to come in to a tea bag pot, coffee and a pint of milk after our long journey there. The housekeeper was kind and consRead moreiderate and all the information we needed was provided. They dont have a cot or high chair available. We used it as a base to see friends nearby so didnt explore the local area much but everyone we did meet were very friendly and helpful. The water is hot and the shower and bath were both very good especially to warm up after a day on the beach in February. The heating also works well so we always came home to a warm house which was great. We highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay there again. Hide

Comfortable and very clean cottage, well equipped and a wonderful beach for walks just 5mins around the corner! It was an ideal base for exploring lots of nature reserves for beautiful Winter Walks.
