This pet-friendly bolthole is a book lover’s paradise. Ideal for two couples and their canine companions, it’s at the heart of historic Woodbridge and combines period features with a fabulous library for the ultimate in relaxation. When you want a wander, there’s a fine selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and walks on the doorstep.
If books are an escape from the every day, this delightful holiday home is sure to be your dream destination, with a wealth of literature you can devour while your dogs enjoy their own downtime. Located above Woodbridge Books on the town’s historic thoroughfare, this property has many nods to its Georgian heritage, complemented by contemporary styling. Snuggle up on the sofa and while the dogs snooze by the wood burner, you can immerse yourself in a fabulous selection of reading matter. To the rear of this room is a large dining suite. There’s a fabulous choice of eateries on your doorstep but if you prefer to cook at home, your kitchen has all the self-catering essentials plus a Nespresso coffee pod machine. If inspiration strikes, there’s a cosy corner with a desk where you can work on your own literary masterpiece. And when you’re all out of ideas, there are two bedrooms to choose from – one has a king-size bed and en-suite shower room, and the other has twin beds that can be arranged as a super-king-size bed on request. Assuring ultra-convenience for all, there’s also a modern family bathroom and a separate cloakroom. Woodbridge has some lovely green spaces, but you can catch the morning sunshine in your own enclosed courtyard; a lane alongside the property leads to pretty Elmhurst Park when the dogs want to wander further.
Only 8 miles from the Suffolk coast, Woodbridge is a thriving market town with a wealth of independent stores, cafes, bars and restaurants along its thoroughfare and around its ancient Market Hill. Visit The Tide Mill beside the River Deben, one of only a handful in the world still producing flour on a regular basis. Enjoy a gentle walk along the riverside from here to the neighbouring village of Melton (1.5 miles) or drive 3 miles to the famous Sutton Hoo Anglo-Saxon burial ground, where dogs are allowed on estate walks.
