Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in this charming single-story stone-built home in the heart of the seaside village of Alnmouth. Sleeping four people across two bedrooms and accommodating one canine companion, this is an ideal retreat for small families or groups of friends who are dreaming of exploring the beautiful Northumberland coast with their pup by their side. After a busy day exploring the local area, come home to dine alfresco in the cottage’s pretty garden.

Step into the hallway and head to the inviting open-plan lounge/diner. Slip onto a sofa and take a moment to make yourself at home before heading to the smart galley-style kitchen to whip up some dinner for your loved ones. Gather everyone for a meal at the expandable table in the dining area, or head out to the garden to the front of the cottage to dine alfresco. After dinner, pop open a bottle of something cool and crisp as you enjoy the coastal breeze, or head back to the lounge area to stretch out in front of the TV as your pup snoozes at your feet. At the end of the day, there are two lovely bedrooms waiting for you – a king-size and a twin.

Your dog will adore going for walkies on Alnmouth Beach (0.5 miles), which is dog-friendly all year round. You’ll often find the stretch of beach to the south of the estuary completely empty, and as part of the Northumberland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the scenery certainly doesn’t disappoint. Alternatively, take your pup for a stroll in the picturesque village of Craster (9 miles). Visit the harbour and stop off in a dog-friendly cafe to sample the village’s famed Craster kippers.

Central location in village on a quiet lane. Easy access to pubs, restaurants and the shop. Bus stop a short walk with busses for Alnwick, Berwick, Warkworth. It's a 30 min walk to station, taxis available but in high demand.

A lovely cottage in a great location. Right in the centre of Alnmouth close to everything, particularly the incredible beach. Parking fine outside the cottage. Good amenities and spotless. Lovely stay.

Kitted out and maintained to the highest standards, Pinfold Retreat was the perfect short-stay choice for two singles. Ideal location for good restaurants and coastal walks.

Lovely little cottage situated in the heart of Alnmouth, a very dog friendly village on the coast. No garden but a large beach nearby. Neighbours friendly. We have been coming here for the last 3 years and it seems like a second home. Plenty of dog friendly places to eat and the hotel at the top of the road does excellent take away.We do not eat inRead more as so much choice. Plenty of places to visit, including Warkworth Amble (for a superb fish lunch at restaurant on the quay) and many others. Hide

Needs updating and bathrooms need better heating as they were both cold. Good position but didn't think it was value for money.

Superficially the cottage is clean but skirting boards were very dusty and there were thick cobwebs at the side of the wardrobe. Not very nice.

Location is the biggest bonus of this cottage as you can just step out to the high street but it is very quiet. Well equipped. Single beds in second room were narrow though so would suit a family rather than 4 adults. A flooring deep clean in bedrooms and bathrooms needed and fan and cord in en-suite need replacing/fixing. Owner informed of this.

We had a lovely stay at The Pinfold Retreat. The cottage was nicely done out, clean, well equipped and in an excellent location for the beach (probably less than 5 minutes walk away), places to eat, and the excellent Puffin Stores/Post Office.

This is our 4th time here. We find it convenient for the hotels and pubs for eating out during the day or evening, Also good to wander around Alnmouth or walk down to the beach without taking the car. No garden for the dogs although a wonderful beach. Cottage clean tidy and warm. Well equipped, although we always have trouble working out how to useRead more the oven on the only occasion we ate in. Alnmouth totally dog friendly. Our dog now thinks of this as her second home. We find it best to reverse down the Pinfold and park outside the cottage. Hide

Very much improved property since the lounge/dining area has been refurnished. Very central location for all the dog friendly Alnmouth eateries. No garden but easy walking distance to the beach for dog walking. Plenty of room for 2 adults but may be a bit cramped (cosy) with 4 adults. Very well equipped kitchen although we ate out most nights.

Great situation in Alnmouth. Cottage clean and well equipped generally. Much improved fro our last visit. It is down a very narrow passage and has no back yard or small garden so only one door at the front. Can park outside but at least a five or six point turn required even for a small car. Very pet friendly inside with lots of stuff for visiting Read moredogs which is great but if they need to go it always has to be a walk to find any grassy area. Hide
