Celebrate a special occasion or simply gather family or friends together for a wonderful seaside getaway in the delightful village of Walberswick. This large, welcoming house works well all year round: relax by the pool in summer or gather around the wood burner in winter.

The heart of this lovely house is its light-filled kitchen, a large space with a tiled floor – perfect for feeding hungry hounds. The breakfast bar is a great perch for a morning coffee, while the farmhouse-style dining table for six is ideal not only for meals but also games and for planning the next day’s activities. For more formal meals, a dining room for ten leads directly off the kitchen. After supper, while away the evenings in the dual-aspect lounge, where three sofas provide space for everyone, grouped around a wood burner for those chilly evenings. Play cards or grab a board game from the dresser in the kitchen, or catch up on a show on the Smart TV. The sunroom, meanwhile, is a get-away-from-it-all spot with comfortable seating and glazed doors to the patio. Upstairs, you’ll find five elegant, en-suite bedrooms: a king-size, three doubles and a twin. In warm weather, you can play croquet on the lawn, enjoy an al fresco meal, lounge in the sun and, of course, take a dip in the glorious swimming pool.

With a lovely, old-fashioned feel, Walberswick has several shops, cafes and pubs and a beach that’s open to dogs all year round (zoomies, here we come!). Walk inland through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or take the coast path 1.5 miles to Southwold for a day out in this iconic resort, which has a lighthouse, Victorian pier and an interesting choice of shops, pubs and places to eat.

A very comfortable well located house within easy walking distance of the two pubs, both of which serve excellent food. There is a fantastic outside entertainment space if you are lucky with the weather.

Troy is a lovely, spacious house in a delightful area. The downstairs rooms are very large and easily accommodate a large family group. It is very well-equipped and has a plethora of books and games to enjoy. The pool is a bonus: although not heated , it was enjoyed by young and old and there are inflatables and outdoor games as well. (And very smaRead morert outdoor furniture.) There is a convenient, small Co-op a few minutes walk away for basic provisions and good takeaway pizzas available from the village. Communication with the owners was straightforward and an issue with the pool was swiftly dealt with. The garden is not completely dog -proof so care needed when dogs loose in the garden. There are many lovely walks from the house, though some footpaths are rather overgrown in the summer. Walberswick is a delightful village and very popular. The walk to the beach is hazardous with small children due to the traffic so the car had to be used, but there is plenty of reasonably-priced parking at the end of the road. Though new to crabbing we became instantly hooked and quite successful, then delighted in watching them scuttle back to the water. Troy pleased all the family and made the holiday a most memorable occasion. Hide
