Cosy nights spent curled up with man’s best friend are what’s on offer from this Yorkshire cottage. Set opposite rolling hills and characterful dry-stone walls, this pet-friendly place is a delightful holiday destination in The Dales, complete with fabulous walking routes and incredible hikes in every direction. Take furry friends out in search of wildlife and sticks to fetch, sniffing out adventure in surrounding Swaledale as you go. Comfortable and instantly welcoming, the cottage itself hosts six guests and two dogs, ideal for packs of family or friends.
You’ll feel like top dog on arrival at this property, noticing first the compact, enclosed patio space out front, a space to sit and sip a drink whilst admiring the view. Let Rover lead the way inside to find an extremely welcoming lounge with an open fire, soft seating and a Smart TV. Your pups can choose the best place for their bed to go, likely by the warmth of the fire, whilst you move between the kitchen and dining room to socialise on an evening. Notice the ground floor WC on your way up to the first floor, home to three bedrooms. With sleeping dogs resting peacefully downstairs, you’re welcome to get comfy in the lovely bedrooms, each offering picturesque views and a tranquil silence at night.
Both short and long-distance walking routes lay waiting close by, ideal for those energetic pups and pets who prefer to take it easy. Move towards the beautiful village of Thwaite (3 miles), noticing ambling country roads and endless fields as you go, to link up to the Pennine Way. This route encompasses Great Shunner Fell (6.5 miles), a spectacular peak, and loops all the way down to the Wensleydale village of Hawes (10 miles). Other beauty spots nearby include Buttertubs Pass (5 miles) and Cotter Force (11 miles), all made to be explored with Fido at your heel.
