Bring the whole family together – four-pawed pals included – to make some memories in the verdant Derbyshire countryside, enjoying endless walkies and outdoor adventures from this Peak District place. The converted country cottage is set on the edge of a newly built development, surrounded by fields with grazing sheep that city-dwelling dogs will no doubt go mutts for. Hosting eight guests and two pets, the holiday home is made for larger groups, extended families and dog-loving friendship groups, complete with stunning scenery, walks in every direction, and the lively village centre of Hartington just half a mile away.
This top-dog property has been finished to an immaculate standard, with exposed brickwork, modern fixtures and contemporary styling throughout. Let Rover and Fido plod inside, likely parking themselves down in front of the cosy wood burner in the lounge whilst their owners get comfy on the L-shaped sofa behind. Enjoy the farmhouse kitchen with breakfast bar seating and the separate dining room at mealtimes, or step out to dine in the garden. Although perfect for pets, large and set to lawn, this area is unenclosed, so care should be taken with escape-prone pups. Back indoors, four bedrooms and three bathrooms complete the property, neatly arranged out over two floors.
Lead the way to adventure in the surrounding National Park, exploring walks along the River Dove (500 metres) and around the rugged limestone rocks of the dales. An easy White Peak Walk takes you from Hartington to Wolfscote Dale (1.5 miles), where you can admire the surrounding scenery from an elevated position at Wolfscote Hill Trig Point (2 miles). Having let Rover sniff out wildlife and contentedly chase tennis balls, take an afternoon off to explore the scenic town of Buxton (11 miles), home to pretty architecture and inviting pet-welcoming pubs.
