Bask in the sun out on the deck with your favourite furry friend when you stay at this elegant period house in East Cornwall’s Looe. Looking out over the harbour and the town, the three-storey property sleeps eight guests across four bedrooms and welcomes canine companions too. Have picnics on dog-friendly beaches, indulge in walks out along the beautiful coastline and plan days out to beauty spots where your cheerful chum is as welcome as you are.

Enter the property at ground-floor level and take your pup through to the kitchen/diner, which like the rest of this house is exquisitely decorated. Make yourself a cup of fresh coffee, serve him the fresh local cuts you have bought in town and then prepare a meal for everyone else to enjoy at the table or breakfast bar in here. The lounge is a delightful space to watch the Smart TV or to step out on to the terrace with your waggy-tailed friend to take in the views. A king-size bedroom, a twin and a beautiful bathroom, with claw-foot bath, can be found on both the first and second floors of the house. Outside, you’ll find a covered sun terrace and a further decked area, where you can take in the beautiful views while your canine companion has a sniff around.

Enjoy trips out to dog-friendly beaches to swim, surf and play on the sand. Plaidy Beach, 1 mile away, and Seaton, 5.5 miles away, both have no restrictions. Also plan a day trip to the National Trust’s scenic Lantic Bay, 9 miles away, a peaceful cove, perfect for puppy paddling. Take your pal on a 5.5-mile walk along the coast from Looe to Polperro, hopping on to a bus that welcomes four-legged passengers to return home.

Great property and we really enjoyed staying. Very comfortable for 6 people and nice & central for Looe. Not suitable for anyone with physical impairments do you hill and steps to access. Also do not drive down the road to the house unless you have a small car and comfortable with tight spaces.

Great location- yes it is on hill but everywhere in looe is on a hill. Great views & spacious rooms. Shame about a few things mentioned in precious reviews from sept and April that still were not fixed such as stained bedding, toaster, lamp, door handles etc. Looks like alot of work/ construction being done out back, would be great for future gueRead morests to have access to when complete. This property is in a great location near the facilities and wonderful views (less the fact it is very difficult to access due to the narrow road, for very small cars only, and a steep hill which was a problem for the older members of my family, which really should be strongly mentioned more in the general description), it could be a really outstanRead moreding property with more care and maintenance. Unfortunately the basic expectations and high standards of a 5 star property as per the Original Cottages Website are not met. This is a 8 bed space property, with only 7 chairs for dining, some of the furniture is broken or in decline, there are lots of chips, marks and stains on the walls, making the place look tired. The toilet seat & bin are in a poor state and the handle to the toilet door falls off in use (middle toilet). We were horrified that there are no mattress protectors on the beds and there are disgusting stains on the mattresses and there were hairs on the some of mattresses and sheets. There was a large amount of dust and hair under the beds/furniture. Its such a shame as its a lovely property, just lacking the basics, for example there is no where to hang coats, only an old coat rail with only 2 pegs left for 8 people? On arrival the dish washer was full of dirty dishes, the right hand oven had burnt food all over it and stunk of fish (we could not use it all week, it was that bad). The light blue chair in the front room is of very poor quality, try sitting in it for a period of time! A really serious note is the Health and Safety Hazzard of the sunken entrance and metal strip which would stick up at the front hallway right outside the living room, this caused numerous members of my family (both young and old) to fall/trip, luckily there were no serious injuries, but this needs to be addressed now. From the photos, I had high expectations, this was a family holiday I had planned for a long time to treat them to a lovely location and property, it is not cheap, but some aspects of it felt cheap, but we made do and tried to not let it spoil our holiday, Looe and the surrounding area is a fantastic place! DON'T DRIVE TO THE HOUSE - THE ROAD IS TOO NARROW! Although the information stated that the road was narrow, it isn't clear that it won't be suitable for most vehicles. We have a mid-sized car (Ford C-Max) and had 1/2 inch clearance on each side at times and the hills were very steep with sharp bends. It was incredibly challenging and we were luckyRead more to escape with a small scratch on the car - we saw other cars on the road sustain much worse! There is a local man (Pete - Looe Luggage Transfer) who will take luggage up and down to the house in his quad bike and trailer at a very reasonable rate (8). Definitely recommended (on Facebook and 07810644449). Aside from the road, we were incredibly lucky with the weather we had. The house itself was nice - amazing views and the balcony on the front gets the sun all afternoon and evening. Everything was comfortable and clean, although there were a few issues with the bathroom on the top floor. The living space is much smaller than it appears in the photos - we struggled to seat seven of us around the table in the kitchen and had to use the breakfast bar as overflow seating. The hills to walk up and down between the town and the property were very steep so be prepared for quite a hard walk up. Hide
