This remote cottage is set in a beautiful spot overlooking Derrynane Bay, 1 mile from the pretty village of Caherdaniel. The property welcomes six humans and one hound, and is perfect for both families and groups of friends. You’ll be just 500 metres from a sandy beach to explore with the pup, and you’ll find further beaches and woodland walks in nearby Derrynane National Park (1 mile).

The detached bungalow has simple styling and neutral decor, and enjoys far-reaching coastal views. At its heart is a bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a tiled floor and large windows letting in plenty of natural light. Relax here after a busy day, preparing delicious feasts in the charming country kitchen area and sharing mealtimes around the wooden dining table. In the evenings, sink into a sumptuous sofa to watch TV whilst Rover stretches out in front of the open fire. The cottage has three inviting bedrooms, including a bunk bedroom that’s perfect for children. A refreshing family bathroom rounds off the accommodation. Outside, sip a morning coffee on the balcony as you plan your day and admire your spectacular surroundings. There is also a garden just off the kitchen, where your furry chum can stretch their legs. Private parking is available at the cottage.

Caherdaniel is a bustling village with several paw-friendly places to eat. The scenic driving route, the Ring of Kerry, passes through the village, along with the long-distance Kerry Way. For a day at the seaside, head to Derrynane Beach (1 mile). This picture-postcard beach boasts white sands and turquoise waters, and welcomes four-pawed beach-goers all year. The location is stunning- amazing views across the estuary and out to sea, with the Skellig in the distance; picture windows in the living room make the most of this view. However, there is no personal welcome, or folder of instructions, places to visit etc. Simply a list of demands- including having to take all rubbish down to the village (insteRead moread of leaving it in the bin outside the cottage) Unlike the previous Shamrock cottage we were in the week before, this place was cold (clothes actually felt damp after being in the wardrobes) and did not have a friendly vibe. The kitchen was just adequately equipped, but not brilliantly. Really quite a disappointment- we were very happy to be out all day. Hide
