This rural bolthole sits within 5 acres of land on the shores of Maumeen Lake with spectacular mountain views. The property sleeps four human guests and three hounds and makes a great base for small families and groups of friends. The area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, and you and the pack can set off for exhilarating hikes through the Twelve Bens mountain range or stride out along the many coast paths that wind their way through the Connemara landscape.

The waterside hideaway is set at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac road, just off the Wild Atlantic Way. The quaint cottage has been carefully designed to include everything needed for a relaxing getaway, and is decorated in a simple, traditional style. The main living space is a bright and inviting lounge/kitchen, where you can rustle up hearty meals after a long walk with the hounds and unwind on the comfortable seating to watch the TV/DVD. On winter nights, fire up the wood burner to create a cosy ambience. The cottage has two inviting bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside, enjoy an al fresco supper on the patio and admire the breathtaking scenery as the pups potter around on the lawn. Private parking is available at the property.

The attractive village of Ballyconneely is 3 miles away and has a great range of eateries, many of which serve delicious local produce and seafood. The village is also home to the oldest smokehouse in Connemara. The Connemara coastline boasts some of Ireland’s finest paw-friendly beaches, including the stunning Gurteen and Dog’s Bay, 6 miles from the cottage. Excellent accommodation, this was my fifth stay in this property. A bit basic or small for some people. The key holder is a character and made me feel very welcome.

Nick was very helpful and kind. If you love peace and quiet and nature, this accommodation, far from everything but with a nearby easement, in Ballyconneely is for you... We recommend: Aaelsagh Falls, Cregg Peak, Diamond's Hill, Dog's Bay, Galway. Final advice: Get lost; it's the best way to discover...

Magical, peaceful location. Close to the special beaches around Ballyconeely and Roundstone. Comfortable cottage, well equipped for an escape from our turbulent world. Great for dogs too, though you will need to watch them with all the sheep close by.

Very AUTHENTIC cottage with old charm and grandma type cosyness, very well located between the beautiful Dog's Bay of Roundstone and the pleasant little village of Ballyconeely (the smokehouse is a must go for its salmon). Also typical rural Connemara surroundings with sheeps and Connemara ponies to entertain you if you are animal lovers (if so, doRead moren't miss the auctions at the Connemara poney sales in Clifden several times a year)...BUT please be aware that for autumn and winter holidays, the house is hardly isolated and the heating is outdated, even with the stove.
