This pet-friendly cottage is in the picturesque Inagh Valley, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Sleeping five guests and one canine pal, it’s the ideal base for families and friends looking to explore the hidden gems of County Galway. The area is a paradise for dog walkers, with The Western Way passing close to the cottage and nearby tracks and trails leading into the mountains.

The welcoming cottage has a homely vibe, with traditional furniture and characterful original features. Leave walking boots in the porchway, before making your way through to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, featuring a striking, wood-panelled ceiling and a statement stone wall. The kitchen area is equipped with everything needed to cater for the group, and you can dine together around the table or at the breakfast bar. The inviting lounge area has an array of comfortable seating set around a TV and a roaring open fire – the perfect dozing spot for the woofer. The holiday home has two relaxing bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room. Completing the cottage is a handy utility room and a family bathroom. Outside, you’ll find a gravelled seating area with breathtaking views for dining alfresco on a summer’s evening. Private parking is available at the cottage. Please enquire before booking if you’re bringing a dog.

Along with the mountain trails directly from the property, you’ll also find fabulous walking routes around Lough Inagh (1 mile) and within Killary Coastal Park (10 miles), taking you along the banks of Ireland’s only fjord. For a day at the beach, journey to the aptly named Dog’s Bay (17.5 miles), with its white sands and crystal-clear waters. The bustling market town of Clifden, known as the capital of Connemara, is 16.5 miles away. Here, you can sample local dishes in the many eateries and enjoy live music in the traditional Irish pubs.
