This rural bolthole is in the pretty village of Caherdaniel, on the wild and rugged Iveragh Peninsula. The holiday home sleeps two humans and one small hound, and enjoys a peaceful setting surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The immediate area is a paradise for walkers and their four-pawed pals, with idyllic coastal paths to explore and picturesque beaches, such as Derrynane Beach, just 1 mile away. For those who wish to bring their own boat, a mooring is available.

The cute cottage has been carefully configured to include everything needed for a relaxing getaway. At the heart of the home is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you and your waggy-tailed chum can unwind after a day of adventure. Prepare hearty meals in the kitchen area to share at the dining table under the window. After dinner, stretch out on the sofa, with Fido curled at your feet, to read a book or watch TV. When it’s time for bed, retire to the inviting double bedroom for a good night’s sleep. A refreshing shower room completes the accommodation. Outside, relax on the furniture in the shared garden, soaking up the peace and tranquillity. There is private parking for one car.

Caherdaniel is a charming village with a handful of cute shops and friendly pubs. The village is a great base for walkers, providing easy access to the long-distance Kerry Way. The scenic driving route, the Ring of Kerry, also passes through the village. Derrynane National Historic Park is just 1 mile from the cottage, and is a lovely spot to walk the pup, with woodland trails to explore and secluded beaches. History enthusiasts will enjoy visits to the ancient sites at Staigue Stone Fort (6 miles) and Derrynane Abbey (2 miles), or for a day’s fishing, journey to nearby Lough Currane (10 miles).

As it was early season it could have done with having a bigger heater in the living room.

On your website images of the property the bedroom had two beds but when we got there discovered only one bed! This was a shock! I am 71 with arthritis and would have really struggled to share a bed for the week with my brother who is 70! Lucky for us, he had a camp bed in the car so could sleep on that, but far from ideal.

Its a nice cottage between two section of the Kerry-Way. Well, situated for hiking.. nearby the cottage you will find the pub the blind piper with the variation of tasteful meals. I cottage is a little, standalone house. Best view of a wonderful landscape. You will find peace and silence,
