This secluded retreat near the village of Caherdaniel enjoys spectacular views across Dorianne Bay. The property sleeps six guests and one canine chum, and is ideal for families and groups of friends looking to get away from it all. The cottage sits on the Lamb’s Head Peninsula, and you’ll find wild and rugged coastal walks directly from the front door. There’s also a pristine, sandy beach just 300 metres away.
The detached bungalow is bright and airy, with high ceilings, simple decor, and large windows framing stunning coastal views. The main living area is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with ample space for you and the pup to spread out and relax. The pretty kitchen is equipped with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, and there is a large dining table next to the window for sharing mealtimes as a group. In summer months, slide open the doors to the terrace to further extend the social space and allow Rover to wander in and out. After dinner, unwind in the cosy lounge area to watch a film on the TV/DVD and warm your toes by the open fire. The property has three inviting bedrooms, one of which is a bunk bedroom that’s ideal for children. A family bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, dine alfresco on the terrace and admire the far-reaching vistas. There is private parking for two cars.
A short drive brings you to the beautiful Derrynane National Historic Park (2 miles), where you and the hound can sniff and explore your way along the woodland paths and remote beaches. You’ll also be within easy reach of the popular, pet-friendly Derrynane Beach (2 miles), with its white sand and turquoise waters. Heading north, spend the day fishing and walking along the water’s edge at Lough Currane, 10 miles away. For shopping and eating out, journey into Caherdaniel (1 mile) or Waterville (9 miles).
