Get away from it all in this traditional farmhouse with panoramic views along the West Cork coastline. The holiday home is tucked away at the end of a road on a small peninsula between the villages of Rosscarbery and Glandore. The area is a haven for dog walkers, with dramatic coast paths directly from the property and hidden coves and beaches to sniff and explore. For a spot of retail therapy, the bustling market town of Skibbereen is 9 miles away.
The farmhouse has been carefully renovated to retain its character and charm, whilst adding contemporary touches and creature comforts throughout. The property has a sociable, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a tiled floor, wood-panelled ceiling, and spectacular coastal views. Spend time here after a day out with the dogs, cooking hearty meals in the colourful kitchen and sharing dinners around the farmhouse-style dining table. At night, snuggle up in the lounge area to read a book from the selection provided whilst the hounds doze in the warmth of the wood burner. Completing the ground floor is a handy utility area – the ideal spot for the dog beds – and a contemporary shower room. Upstairs, four bright and breezy bedrooms await, along with the family bathroom. Outside, admire your breathtaking surroundings from the patio as you sip a morning coffee or share an al fresco dinner. There is private parking for two cars.
Head into Rosscarbery (3 miles) to potter around its independent shops and dine in one of the many cafes or restaurants. The village also hosts a regular farmers’ market where you can pick up delicious local produce for your supper. Many of the pubs host live music throughout the summer, promising a memorable night out. This stretch of the Cork coastline is awash with spectacular, paw-friendly beaches, highlights of which include The Warren and Owenahincha (both within 5 miles).
