Spend your days on dog-friendly beaches and your evenings playing fetch on the lawn at this County Wexford getaway. Sleeping five guests, this handsome, stone cottage sits in generous gardens to ensure your hound has the holiday of his life. The two-bedroom retreat which is perfect for families and groups of friends is situated on the Hook Peninsula, 2.5 miles from Fethard-on-Sea and just over 1 mile from Dollar Bay.

Towel down sandy paws and make your way into this tranquil haven. Head through to the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner to top up your chum’s water bowl, put the kettle on and cut yourself a slice of the Irish teacake you have bought on your trip out. Feed your famished four-legged friend in here too and serve meals to everyone else at the table. Unwind in the evening in front of the TV in the lounge or play games together, with your happy hound keeping you company. Plan your dog-friendly activities of the day before settling your pet down for the night and making your way upstairs to the bedrooms. Here you will find a family room, with one double bed and a single, plus a double bedroom. There is also a family shower room and a family bathroom. Throw a ball for the children and your pup out on the grass on sunny days. Enjoy dinner under the stars together on fine, summer evenings. Ample private parking is also available.

Call your faithful friend and head out on long coastal and country walks. Amble 2 miles down to the sand at Booley Beach, where sea-loving hounds can splash in the waves. Hike down to Hook Lighthouse, 5.5 miles away. Visit Tintern Abbey, which is 5 miles away on foot. Your pet can accompany you through the grounds here.

A very recently restored Irish farmhouse. Very quiet and remote. Tranquility was a positive factor.

I loved this beautiful cottage as did my dog Daisy, who enjoyed exploring the back garden. Only a few minutes drive into Fethard and to a variety of beaches. Very comfortable home and I really relaxed here. Quiet and peaceful and near to village life when you need a break from the quiet :) Loved Carnivan Bay, Booley Bay, Dollar Bay and Tintern WoodRead mores & Abbey. Grlinn is a lovely cafe in Fethard open Thurs-Sun. Giorgio's Greek restaurant was lovely. Good coffee down at MeanBean at BaginBun Beach. Would highly recommend this holiday cottage. Hide

Power's Cottage is beautiful and in an ideal location tucked down a quiet country lane but just a few minutes drive from stunning beaches and Fethard on Sea. It was easy to find the property, the key was left in a lock box and communication with the owner was easy and responsive. We will definitely be back.

A comfortable, well furnished and superbly finished cottage. When there was a problem with the heating, the owner came out very promptly and replaced a blown fuse.
