Wake up to rejuvenation and relaxation in this beautiful riverside retreat. Sleeping four humans and their two contented canines, this traditional cottage makes a great base for many happy hours exploring the Northumberland coast and country.
Soak up gorgeous river views from the welcoming living room, which invites you to slump upon pillowy sofas in front of a period fireplace with your pooches by your side. Your faithful friends can take a nap in the lounge after a day of adventuring, while you gather the gang and enjoy a film night with popcorn. The compact kitchen space is small, but filled with plenty of light thanks to the adjacent conservatory, looking out over an enclosed courtyard where the pups can wander as they please. When weary heads call for bedtime, head upstairs to find a double bedroom and a bunk room with a single bed over a double, both with comforting river views and ornamental fireplaces. In the morning, make yourself a coffee in the Nespresso machine and relax in the front garden while the river steadily flows by. Planted with lots of flowering shrubs and a table for two, this little area makes the perfect place to set up your plans for the day.
If you can tear yourself away from the stunning views that this property offers, then endless amounts of walking routes, wildlife spots, and beautiful coastline are waiting for you to discover. Spend many happy hours wandering the banks of the River Coquet, where trees dot the landscape, and the occasional seal pops up for a friendly hello. Wander around the artisan shops in Warkworth, just minutes from the house, or dine out at one of the many dog-friendly pubs. Warkworth Castle is also worth a visit - with its imposing hilltop exterior and once home to the powerful Dukes of Northumberland. Continue your adventure by taking a half-mile walk up the river, then take a boat trip to visit the Hermitage, a religious building carved out of rock.
