A beautifully designed period property situated in the bustling harbourside town of Brixham on the South Devon Coast. This chic coastal escape is perfect for family getaways or reunions with friends with an honorary four-legged member in tow. Furry food critics can venture waterside for a breezy al fresco lunch at the bistro overlooking Shoalstone Beach (1 mile) where meaty treats are served in abundance. Back at base, sip a sundowner in the Mediterranean-style courtyard surrounded by leafy greenery and whitewashed walls.

This sophisticated hideaway features a curated interior with rustic stonewalling, earthy wooden textures, and crisp white tones. Shake off sandy harnesses at the door then step into the lounge bathed in light from the bay window. Swirl an aperitif as you curl up on the plush sofas or unwind with a film on the Smart TV. Pad beneath the arched doorway to feast in the elegant dining space. Toast to your special occasion then dive into a family feast gathered around the contemporary wooden bench seat. Keen cooks will be in their element pottering in the airy shaker kitchen beneath the exposed beams and skylight. Prop open the patio doors to bask in the breeze while your curios pup explores outside. Rest up in the inviting sleeping areas consisting of a king, twin, and a single each with soft linens and coordinated throws. Gear up for a sizzling afternoon meal on the patio while Fido sniffs in the salty air.

Snuffle out every nook and cranny of the Golden Hind Museum Ship (500 metres) for a dose of immersive maritime history. Scamper along a section of the rugged South West Coast Path for wave-crashing fun on the shores of St Mary’s Bay (1.5 miles) then drink in the sweeping coastal vistas from the cafe perched atop Berry Head (2 miles).

This is the second year we have spent time at April Cottage. We love the location, the space and the comfort of the cottage. The fact that it is dog friendly (with a great green right on the doorstep, perfect for early morning and late night walks) and with wonderful sea views are just the icing on the cake. The improvements to the bathroom were faRead morentastic and we really enjoyed our stay. Hide

April Cottage was very well appointed and conveniently located within 10 minutes walk of the Harbour and shops. Also benefits from a delightful view across a recreation ground, suitable for exercising a dog and the marina below. We would have no hesitation in returning at some point.

We had an amazing stay here as a family of four with our 10 year old and toddler. The house is beautiful, in a wonderful location, with amazing views. It was really clean when we arrived, very comfortable and spacious and had most of the things we needed. Kitchen was very well stocked and even had plastic childrens cups, plates and bowls which was Read morereally useful. We bought our own bed guards to fit on the single bed for our toddler, but hadnt thought of the stairs. Whilst beautiful, the stairs are a bit difficult with a wilfull toddler, so if you are in the same boat as us, you may want to bring your own travel stair gate. We had such a fabulous time at April Cottage and are already looking forward to returning next year. Hide

April Cottage is lovely. It has the most beautiful view of the harbour from the lounge and front bedrooms. It's well equipped, clean and tidy. There's a small park opposite which was great for the dog. It's quite a climb back up from the harbour but the location of this cottage made it well worth it. We loved our stay at April Cottage. We stay in Brixham probably twice a year and have done so for more than 7 years, so all in all have stayed in many apartments and cottages in the town. For many reasons, this was one of our very favourites. For the three of us (two adults, hulking teenager and dog) it was perfectly spacious and we loved the open Read moreplan layout downstairs. The huge family dining table was wonderful and the views from the lounge window were gorgeous, right down to the Breakwater. Being just a few minutes' walk (downhill) into town was excellent because it was very quiet, there was parking right outside the door - SO rare in Brixham - and there were places to walk the dog first and last thing right on the doorstep. The walk back from town regularly brought us past The Manor, one of our favourite spots, so the walk back up hill was nicely broken up! The quality of furniture and everything provided was excellent - we managed to cook a full Christmas dinner without any problem at all. And Rob, the owner, was really friendly and helpful. The welcome gifts of wine, card and even some crackers were thoughtful and much appreciated. We wanted a relaxing family Christmas break with our dog, somewhere comfy and cosy - and that's exactly what we got with April Cottage. Would highly recommend. Hide

Really lovely cottage that is clean and well equipped. Lot's of space for us and our three children, and a pleasant few minutes walk down to the harbour. Steep walk home, but we did it in 3 mins, so doesn't take long. Rob's communication before and during our stay was brilliant. Will definitely look to return here when next visiting the area.
