Come home to this delightful barn conversion after a day spent exploring the gentle East Yorkshire Wolds landscape with your four-legged friend. The 200-year-old property, sleeping four guests and one canine companion, is perfectly placed for outdoor adventures, with peaceful walking and cycling routes within easy reach. Beautifully furnished, the characterful single-storey barn is ideal for families or groups of friends. It is one of three properties set on the owner’s farm, just 1 mile from the village of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, with its shops and pubs.
The open-plan living area is flooded with light from double patio doors and skylights. A vaulted ceiling with beams and exposed brickwork are a striking backdrop for bright, comfortable seating, underfloor heating and a wood burner. Off the lounge are a roomy kitchen/diner and two welcoming bedrooms: a spacious king-size and a cheerful double. A stylish shower room provides the perfect space to freshen up at the start of a busy day. Outside, the large, shared courtyard garden is a lovely open spot for humans and pets alike, with ample seating beneath a pergola. A superb games room in a separate building, also shared, offers a pool table, sofas, a TV and fridge, great for fun-filled nights in.
The Bubwith Rail Trail, a level footpath through undulating countryside is within 400 metres of the barn and perfect for doggy walks, with glorious new smells for them to discover. Circular routes lead from the trail, and you can walk along it to the pretty town of Market Weighton (5 miles). Visit Holme’s fine, medieval village church with a lovely view across the Wolds from the churchyard. Historic York (18.5 miles) is home to the beautiful Minster, and you can view this fine cathedral city from a different perspective on a dog-friendly boat cruise along the River Ouse.
