A superb, 200-year-old barn conversion in the unspoiled Yorkshire Wolds provides the perfect base for dog-lovers who believe their pet deserves a holiday too. Sleeping six guests, plus one canine companion, this stylishly furnished and comfortable country retreat is ideal for families or a group of friends. The barn, which boasts a games room, is one of three properties on a farm 1 mile from the village of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, with lovely walks and cycle paths nearby.

The barn is full of character and charm. A spacious, light-filled living area features a splendid, vaulted roof with beams and comfortable seating where you can snuggle up in front of a cosy wood burner while your pet toasts their paws. A sleek, contemporary kitchen to the rear has generous space, and there is a relaxing ground-floor double bedroom. There’s a stylish wet room on this floor too, ideal for washing off muddy paws. An impressive staircase rises to a gallery landing leading to two more lovely bedrooms - a king-size and a double, and a chic family bathroom. Outside is a splendid, shared games room boasting a pool table, TV, seating and a fridge. A large, enclosed courtyard garden with seating under a pergola, also shared, has ample space which your canine pal will love exploring.

The village has a good range of shops, plus two pubs, with more in the town of Market Weighton (5 miles), from where you can enjoy a waterside walk along the canal with your four-legged friend. Pick up local walks within 400 metres of your holiday home from the Bubwith Rail Trail, a 9-mile foot and cycle path. Visit Holme’s magnificent, medieval church with lovely views across the gentle surrounding countryside. Explore historic York (18.5 miles) from the water with dog-friendly cruises along the River Ouse and visit beautiful York Museum gardens, with canine pals on a lead.
