This period family home enjoys a quiet location in Scarborough’s Old Town. The spacious property sleeps five guests and one small/medium hound – perfect for large families - and has a choice of living areas. Enjoy dog walks along the dramatic Yorkshire coast or take a day trip to Robin Hood’s Bay or Whitby (both within 20 miles). In the evening, dine alfresco in the south-facing enclosed garden.
The Victorian property cleverly combines period design with home comforts. Enter the property via the courtyard and onto a half landing. From here, head down to the lower ground floor, where you’ll find a stylish kitchen and an elegant dining room for hosting special occasions, with a large dining table, sofa, and wooden floors. Four-legged guests are only permitted on this level, so this is a good place to set up the dog bed. There is also a bathroom and utility room on this floor. Upstairs, you’ll find a beautiful lounge, as well as a cosy snug/library. The three bedrooms are on the second floor, as well as a small shower room. Outside, there is a bench to the front of the property, and a gorgeous, terraced garden with outdoor furniture to the rear.
A trip to Scarborough isn’t complete without a visit to the castle. You and your hairy sidekick can explore the ruins of the English Heritage site, before enjoying a picnic in the grounds and taking in the panoramic views. Another lovely place for a dog walk is Peasholm Park. Potter amongst the oriental-themed bridges and waterfalls, before hiring a boat on the lake or hopping on the paw-friendly steam train. Cayton Bay, 3 miles along the coast, is a fantastic woof-friendly beach, with a wide, sandy beach and ample space for a game of fetch.
