We recently had a lovely stay at Beau Cottage. Overall everything was great, but there's some information that may be useful for you if you're thinking of booking. Inside the cottage was nice, warm and cosy. The fridge is very small (fine for us!), the bed is HUGE and very comfortable, the stairs are open (which we thought meant open back steps)Read more, but they're open at the side with no hand rail on one side. All the essentials (toilet roll, kitchen towel etc) were there, which was nice, although we'd taken our own anyway. The main road is busy, but that made it easier for us to get around without travelling along lots of narrow roads, so for us the location was a bonus. On arrival there was a lovely welcome pack which was a nice surprise. Very grateful for that. The path leading to the property through the front gate was very uneven so needs some attention as there are potential trip hazards. There is a very small paddock at the back, which was useful to us for some training, but our dog is always kept on a lead. It wouldn't be secure enough to let dogs off the lead as on one side there is some barbed wire with no other barrier or long grass so some dogs would try and squeeze through, and there wasn't a proper way of fastening the main gate to the paddock. It closed but needs a different type of catch on it. Again, not a problem at all to us. The information folder could do with an update regarding some useful info eg when to put the bins out (I googled it but a lady very kindly put the bin out for us anyway). We ordered food and it was quite hard for the driver to find the house as there is no house number, just the postcode - standing outside waving at them solved this problem. None of these things stopped us enjoying our stay, we just thought some of the info might be useful to other people. We had a lovely relaxing break :) Hide
