This pretty cottage on the edge of the Derbyshire Dales sleeps three humans and three hounds, making it ideal for couples and small families. The cottage has an enclosed garden for your furry friends and a doggy welcome pack is available (please request when booking, additional charges apply). There are some fabulous woof-friendly attractions nearby, including Crich Tramway Village (0.5 miles) and The Heights of Abraham (6.5 miles).

The attractive cottage has been decorated in a contemporary style, whilst retaining beautiful original features. The stylish lounge/diner is a gorgeous place to relax after a busy day, reclining on the sofa or curled up in the vibrant armchair. A wood burner creates a cosy dozing spot for the pack, and there’s a Smart TV for enjoying movie nights. Completing the room is a dining table with benches and sheepskin rugs. The kitchen and a handy shower room round off the ground floor. Stairs lead to the first floor (take care on the staircase, which is open at the start) where you’ll find two delightful bedrooms. The outdoor area is enclosed - ideal for your four-pawed companions - and has furniture for dining alfresco. There’s also a field to the rear of the cottage, where the hounds can burn off steam.

Just 0.5 miles away is the quaint village of Crich, with a village shop, bakery, and two pubs. The village is also home to the Crich Tramway Village, where you and your hairy sidekicks can step back in time with a ride on the vintage trams and potter around the recreated period street. Further afield, the market town of Matlock (6 miles) makes a great day out. You’ll find plenty of independent shops and eateries, as well as a fabulous park with a boating lake and stunning riverside walks.

A peaceful getaway location away from the crowds. Lovely cottage and the owner dropped in to check if all was ok. Not far from Crich village with a local caf, pub, shop and butchers. Not forgetting the Indian restaurant!

We found Beau cottage comfortable and the location was good for getting to places easy. The enclosed paddock could do with better fencing to make it safe for dogs so that they can't escape. Other than that it was perfect. The welcome hamper was gratefully received too. The owner was quick to sort out any problems as well . Overall this was an Read moreexcellent place to stay. Hide

The property was lovely and cool with the current hot weather. It is in a very good position overlooking lovely views of the countryside. Nice grass field at the rear of the cottage which any dog would enjoy. Nice shower, plenty of hot water. Nice original fire surround with wood burning stove as its main feature. would visit again.

My only concern there was that the garden wasn't really dog safe. I have a medium sized dog and she could run straight under the fencing. Luckily she's good and wouldn't stray, but I wouldn't class it ad dog safe. Other than that it was a lovely cottage and the area was beautiful.

Cottage was exactly as described. Location was great. Plenty of walks directly from the doorstep, close to Matlock and Alfreton for shopping, but remote enough to be peaceful.

If the fact that the bathroom was on the ground floor was mentioned in the brochure , I missed it . Possibly that fact could be made more obvious . There is quite a tight turn into the property , fairly narrow , between two stone walls . To complete the turn in you have to cross a busy B road on a bend . The parking space is adequate , but a bitRead more of negotiating is required to get out . The front door blew open when left on the latch , needs to be locked from the inside to ensure its closed . There is quite a bit of road noise but the double glazing is a big asset . Bedroom lighting was poor , particularly lack of effective bedside lights . As with most rented cottages there wasn't an egg timer ! . The paddock wasn't really dog proof . Good points .It was clean and warm with easy to understand heating and a log burner with some logs , kindling and firelighters supplied . So too a small welcome pack . The beds were comfortable . As was the seating . All in all quite a good conversion . The property is some way out of Crich , with no pavement to walk into the village . Neither of the village pubs were serving meals at the time we were there , but there was a pleasant Indian restaurant , where you need to take yr own alcohol , or buy it from the supermarket next to the restaurant. The property is well placed for touring Derbyshire . Hide

Beau Cottage was an exceptional find. The owner has gone out of his way to ensure that every aspect of this cottage was excellent. If we lived in Britain we would definitely return to this property. Unfortunately we live in Australia and our age precludes future trips! However we will spread the word to our UK friends.

Excellent place to stay. Exactly as described. Not too far from the village centre if need a shop. Lovely little cottage. Gave us some wood for the fire, excess of blankets to use if required. Lovely cosy place to stay.

The scores speak for themselves. I love the way you kept updating us with information. Postcode, key lock etc. The cottage was perfect in every way. Clean, comfortable and homely. Could have done with a bit more equipment. I left note for owner. Welcome pack was a lovely thought. Thank you
