Retreat to this enticing cottage at the heart of the Cornish town of Padstow and take your perfect pet along with you. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom, reverse-level cottage is pup-friendly, offering great space to share with your happy hound and a courtyard area where you can all take the air together. From here, follow the Camel Trail or walk out on to the scenic peninsula with Fido trotting beside you.

Wander into this interesting abode to find comfortable accommodation with a sumptuous style. The king-size bedrooms, both with TVs, and one with an en-suite shower and steam room and the other with an en-suite bathroom, are at ground-floor level. Call Fido up to the first floor with you to explore the splendid, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, which has a vaulted ceiling and large gable-end window. The sunny kitchen area comes with a breakfast bar where humans can enjoy their meals while hungry hounds tuck in below. There is a comfortable seating area, where you can unwind in front of the TV. Soak up the sunshine with your favourite furry friend in the courtyard, which has electric gates, on warm days.

Grab the lead, pack a few dog treats and head out along the South West Coast Path and the Camel River for 2 miles to reach scenic Harbour Cove. Here Fido can race across the sand as much as he likes, while you paddle, swim or simply relax and take in the magnificent coastal views. Stroll out along the Camel Trail instead or hire bikes and a dog trailer in town if you’d rather see the sights from the saddle as you follow the long-distance route.
