This two-storey apartment is a real Southwold gem, as it’s within 50 metres of the front, but equally handy for this vibrant town’s centre. It’s a great place for a couple (or two), a small group of friends or a family to live the coastal dream with two pups in tow. You’ll feel like you’re living in the lap of luxury and the exceptional position makes it perfect for discovering the delights of the Suffolk Heritage Coast beyond this historic town.
The upper ground floor has a semi-open-plan layout with the beautiful lounge offering a sanctuary with its period features (high ceilings and ornamental fireplace), and slick wooden floors, great for eight paws! At the end of this space is the dining area, with the table easily seating six. The sleek fitted kitchen is adjacent, offering space for one or two chefs to cook up a storm, using fish bought fresh from the harbour, perhaps? Downstairs, there’s another snug serving as a second lounge. There’s one king-size bedroom and family bathroom on the top floor, with a super-king-size bedroom (can be a twin) and a wet room downstairs, making it ideal for multi-generational family breaks or even two couples. There’s even a cute furnished courtyard for breakfasting (or sundowners!) alfresco.
Southwold remains a favourite for good reason. It’s got a great mix of independent shops, galleries, cafes, pubs and eateries along with a twice-weekly market and, of course, the sea! The shingly beach is beautiful and you can walk along (0.5 miles) to the old-school charm of a putting green and restored pier past the colourful beach huts. Back the other way, or across the heath in town, is the harbour end offering fish and chips, line-caught fish and local seafood and the rowboat ferry across the river mouth to Walberswick.
