Property code: OC-PCLET

Bring your four-legged companion with you to this quaint, two-bed cottage in Letheringham. Exactly how you hope a Suffolk cottage would be – think low wonky ceilings, beams, inglenooks, exposed brick, cottage-style doors and brick-tiled floors. And meld that seamlessly with up-to-date conveniences, furnishings and comfort, and you’re all set for a super-relaxing holiday. Ideally suited to a couple or a small family, spend hours just planning your next move on the oasis-like terraced area or in the peaceful gardens.

As pretty as a picture inside and out, this cottage doesn’t disappoint. The cosy beamed lounge with its wood burner in the red-brick inglenook is an inviting space, with modern sumptuous seating tempting you in. The light and airy country-style kitchen has space to cook and a table for four to eat in comfort amid its rustic charms. Open the back door to the patio and gardens to let the outside in. The stylish bathroom with walk-in shower is downstairs here too, as is so often the case with cottages. Upstairs, the charming king-size bedroom offers sloping ceilings, beams and red brick, and leads through to a generous and calming twin bedroom. Directly outside, the patio proffers dining and lounging furniture, sheltered by a pergola and climbing plants. Further on, the lengthy, landscaped garden meanders down to the River Deben, but note it’s not fully enclosed so keep a close eye on children and furry swimming fans!

Multiple footpaths and quiet country lanes make for great walking or cycling with a happy woofer in tow. The market town of Wickham Market (3 miles) offers shops and eateries. Woodbridge, with its history of shipbuilding and rope making, is 7.5 miles. The National Trust’s fascinating Sutton Hoo (8.5 miles) is an important Anglo-Saxon burial site; dogs on leads are welcome on its walks.

  • 2 bedrooms – 1 king-size, 1 twin (access to twin room is via the master bedroom)
  • 1 bathroom with a walk-in shower and a WC

Pike Cottage is beautifully located in the quiet village of Letheringham, with the river Deben flowing past at the bottom of the garden and mature trees completing the idyllic setting. The cottage is clean and cosy, and well equipped with everything you need to make your holiday enjoyable. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is great. The suRead morerrounding area is lovely, with the picturesque town of Framlingham a few miles away, and the even nearer Wickham Market has a good supermarket. Further afield, Bury St Edmunds is just under an hour away and well worth a visit, as are the historic towns of Lavenham and Long Melford about an hour away. The coast is less than an hour away, with Dulwich, Bawdsey and the Shotley peninsula close by and interesting. I would highly recommend Pike Cottage for a break in Suffolk. Hide

Had a lovely New year in Pike cottage ,a lovely quaint cottage in a peaceful ,tranquil part of the country.Cottage had everything we needed and more.Would have liked a pub in walking distance ,pub at Easton 1.5 miles away but not ideal to be walking on the local roads as they are really narrow.

The cottage was lovely with great views down to the river obviously a lot of thought has been given to the furnishings which enhanced the experience. As previously stated some of the ceilings are low which is only to be expected in an 18th century property and access to the second bedroom is through the first It is a beautifully isolated in a row Read moreof 5/6 properties approximately 1 mile from the village of Easton which has a good pub Great base for exploring the area We would consider staying again Hide

Only disappointment was that the cooker hob was extremely hard to get working and like wise with the oven. There were no instructions for either appliances. Not aware that the 2 nd bedroom only access was via the main bedroom. No rubbish bins were provided likewise there was not a hairdryer available which was surprising as the cottage was very welRead morel fitted out with quality furniture and accessories. Hide

Lovely place to stay beautiful garden with a river at the bottom. Quality appliances and stylish decor and furnishings. Less than 30 minutes to the seaside and beautiful countryside surrounding the cottage. Had a problem with the washing machine whilst we were there and Suffolk secrets responded swiftly. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
