Take your pup pal on long coastal walks and for days out to dog-friendly beaches when you stay at this apartment in Swanage. Sleeping five guests, the two-bedroom retreat is well placed for enjoying the seaside town itself, as well as its beautiful surroundings. With a generous terrace that takes in views out towards the Isle of Wight and the Purbeck Hills, the upper-ground-floor apartment makes a great base for a dog-loving family seeking a Dorset holiday.

Follow your dog up a few steps to enter the apartment building and usher him into your private accommodation. Hang his lead and your jackets in the hall, then wander on through to the bright open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Open the French windows onto the terrace on warm days and let Fido wander out into the fresh air. Prepare meals for your family, dine at the table, and find a good movie on TV. Feed your dog in the kitchen area too and settle him in for the night. The bedrooms at this apartment include a king-size, with TV, and a bunk bedroom, with a single upper bunk and lower double. There is also a wonderful family bathroom. The sizeable terrace will be greatly enjoyed by all guests, including those with four legs. Parking for this property is on the street, subject to availability.

Walk 0.5 miles with Fido to the sea at Monkey Beach, where your dog can splash in the shallows and play freely on the sand. Studland Bay, 3.5 miles from the apartment, with its 4-mile-long beach, makes a great dog-friendly day out for all the family. Corfe Castle, 5 miles away and in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, also welcomes happy hounds. Take Fido on long walks along the South West Coast Path, perhaps trying the 2-mile stretch between Peveril Point and Anvil Point.

We had a fantastic week staying at IoW view. The apartment is very comfortable and well equipped. The location is very convenient, we were able to walk everywhere and didn't go out in the car at all. The roof terrace is real bonus but not to worry if the weather is not great because you can enjoy the fabulous view from inside. For anyone else traRead morevelling with their dog, the nearest poo bin is at the top of Cowlease (the road opposite the British Legion). What3words/// tight.vowed.reputable. Wonderful place to stay! The place is clean, bright and spacious and full of lots of comforts. Very welcome thoughtful touches too, like milk and biscuits and soap. Perfect location and the view is stunning. Highly recommend.

We spent a wonderful week at Wight View with our two dogs. The flat is spacious, well equipped, the view from the living room and balcony is awesome. Although located on the High Street it is rather quite during the night. Shops, sea front and restaurants are all in walking distance. We had amazing food and drink at the nearby Black Swan. Be aware Read morethis pub is very popular, so book early for food. We enjoyed walking at Durlston Country Park and Knoll Beach in Studland is great for dog walks, better than the local beach. Hide

The flat has a real wow-factor as you go in, as it is spacious and beautifully decorated - and the views are absolutely amazing. We really enjoyed the views all week. The outside space is great. Our daughter loved the bunk beds in her room. We were very impressed with all the little touches - fresh milk in the fridge on arrival, postcards to send hRead moreome, books to read.
